Maurizio Sarri will make Napoli star Dries Mertens Chelsea’s first summer target if his takeover at Stamford Bridge is completed, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.

The Italian manager is edging ever closer to sign for Chelsea with Gianfranco Zola reportedly set for an assistant coach role.

Zola was coy on a potential move to the West London side as he told SuperSport yesterday: “There is a lot of rumours about me at the moment and nothing has happened. And we’ll see what happens in the future.

“I don’t know. I was afraid you were going to ask me this. Really, I don’t know”.

Moreover, the signing of the Belgian 31-year-old could be a proper move in order to persuade both Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois to stay at Chelsea also next season.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has made CSKA star Aleksandr Gloving a target to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

It is understood also Juventus are keeping tabs on the attacking-midfielder, who’s been targeted by Barcelona and Arsenal too.

With Maurizio Sarri reportedly set to be appointed as new manager, the Russian starlet could become the first signing to revamp Chelsea’s midfield.

Golovin, who scored in the World Cup 2018 opener against Saudi Arabia, played the whole game against Egypt in St.Petersburg tonight.

Chelsea are set to appoint Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, with Gianfranco Zola reportedly eager to become the Blues’ next director of sport.

With the Italian boss at Stamford Bridge, some reports suggest a number of players could be signed by Chelsea from Napoli and Senegalese centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly seems to be their main target.

However, Azzurri’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed “not just one” player will leave the Serie A side when the transfer market window reopens in July.

He said: “Koulibaly is unapproachable and with him also [Piotr] Zielinski and with them [Marko] Rog.”

It is understood Napoli rejected a massive £58m bid for Koulibaly earlier last summer, before completing the signing of Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger did not feature in Germany’s opener against Mexico this evening.

Joachim Low’s men suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat as PSV winger Hirving Lozano capitalized a counter-attack lately in the first half.

Die Mannschaft played with Matt Hummels and Jerome Boateng as defensive duo, with both Rudiger, Sule and Ginter relegated to the bench.

On the other hand, Chelsea winger Willian is currently featuring against Switzerland in Rostov as La Seleçao are in front at half-time thanks to Philippe Coutinho’s masterpiece from 25 yards out.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen limped off the pitch with ten minutes left to go in Denmark‘s World Cup opener today.

The defender, who looked in some discomfort following a knock, left the pitch due to a cramp, according to head-coach Age Hareide.

The Danes will miss defensive midfielder William Kvist, who’s reportedly a broken rib following a clash with Perù winger Farfan.

Hareide said: “We think he has broken the rib. If that is the case, Kvist is out of the World Cup. We can not pick up another player. We could only do that (bring in a replacemnet) if he had been injured 24 hours before the first match.”

Good news for Chelsea as Christensen’s experience with Denmark goes on.

Andreas Christensen was brave and solid in stopping Peru‘s attempts to score in World Cup opener with Denmark at Mordovia Arena in Saransk, Russia.

However, the centre-back limped off the pitch in some discomfort lately in the second half following a great performance.

Christensen could be a concern for the Danes as they will take on Australia (Thursday 21st June) and France (Tuesday 26th June) to complete Group C.

Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta was an unused sub in Spain 3-3 draw against Portugal last night, while both Olivier Giroud (who provided an assist) and N’Golo Kante featured in France win against Australia today.

Spain faced EURO 2016’s champions in the opener of the competition and conceded an early opener as Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to goal after just 4′ in the first half.

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa got the better of the Portugal defence to level the scores, before Ronaldo grabbed his first brace in a World Cup and put his squad in front again.

However, Costa scored the second brace of the game and secured Spain a double comeback, then Nacho’s brilliant effort put ahead Fernando Hierro’s men with less than 30′ left to go.
