Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was offered $ 1m to play for Atletico de Kolbata, a side playing in Indian Super League.
Furthermore, the club would offer to Drogba an unspecified bonus in addition to his living costs and travel to India and undertake pre-season with the ISL champion side next month before competing in the October 3-December 20 league.
Indian Super League clubs must confirm their marquee players by July 31 but King Didier hasn’t made a decision yet.
Drogba’s UK-based agent Baljit Rihal was quoted by the Evening Standard saying: “This is a real statement of intent from clubs in the Indian Super League, who are passionately trying to put India on the global football map.
Drogba also received an offer from MLS side Chicago Fire, but he claimed that he was still thinking on it, letting understand that he would prefer to stay in Europen adding “a club like Inter Milan would be a good option”.
These will be important days for the Chelsea legend future, who is set to make a decision next week.
