From Genoa a shocking news is being reported in the last hours. Former Chelsea and Everton striker Samuel Eto’o could be heading for a move to the USA or China just days after signing for Sampdoria.
Eto’o joined the Serie A club last week, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract and being promised by extravagant Sampdoria’s president Massimo Ferrero a managerial career as well as a role in a movie – “My Africa” should be the title – Ferrero, working in the sector of entertainment, is preparing.
However, Eto’o on Monday decided to head to Milan where his family still lives from the experience with FC Internazionale, after learning the manager Sinisa Mihajlovic would be holding a double training session following Samp being trashed by small Torino FC for 5-1 – for Blucerchiati it was just the third seasonal defeat.
The 33-year-old forward is believed to have sorted out his differences and returned to training on Tuesday, but Calciomercato is claiming that a departure could still place.
The Italian website claims Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic still wants an apology from Eto’o and if the player refuses, he will consider offers from abroad.
MLS side New York Cosmos have been linked with the Cameroonian and have already signed famous players such as Raul and Marcos Senna…. and were believed to do the same with Lampard but we all know how things have turned out.
Chinese Super League side Shanghai East Asia are also reported to be following his situation and could make a move if the situation deteriorates.
