Chelsea announced earlier this day former Chelsea manager Ron Suart has died at the age of 94.
After a period as assistant to Tommy Docherty and Dave Sexton, Suart took charge of the first-team for six months from October 1974 to April 1975.
Suart also managed Wigan, Scunthorpe United and Blackpool.
His 10-year career as a footballer started at Blackpool alongside Sir Stanley Matthews; in 1946 he then moved to Blackburn Rovers and Wigan.
He remains Blackpool’s second longest-serving manager, behind Joe Smith.
In the 16 years Suart spent with Chelsea, he also served as general manager and chief scout, also working as a scout for Wimbledon later on.
