Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj has named Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic as two of the players he admires most, according to insidefutbol.com.
The Belgium international, who did not play in his country’s 5-0 win over Cyrprus last night, named his compatriot Hazard as the finest passer of the ball he has played against.
“I’d say Eden Hazard.” Januzaj responded when the question was put to him. On who is the fittest all round player he has played against, it was Chelsea’s consistent and goal scoring right-back Ivanovic that got the nod. Ivanovic is adored by all Chelsea fans for his sometimes uncompromising style of play as well as his uncanny ability to score vital goals- he has recently netted winners in the League Cup semi-final against Liverpool and in the Premiership game away at Aston Villa, a crucial victory in Chelsea’s attempt to win the league title back.
Hazard signed for the club in 2012 for over £30 million, turning down Manchester’s United and City to ply his trade at Stamford Bridge. His three years since have recently earned him a new five-year contract which brings him in line with the clubs highest earners.
When asked who is the toughest defender he has faced, Januzaj had a surprising answer:
“Cambridge’s defenders were quite tough.”
Manchester United played League 2 Cambridge United in this season’s FA Cup.
