Paulo Dybala: Italians battle Arsenal and Chelsea
The Argentine Inter Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti confirmed his club’s interest in Paulo Dybala of Palermo.
The striker scored 13 goals in the process and weighed in with 10 assists in 31 games. The 21-year-old player found a perfect partnership with fellow Franco Vazquez and he is now one of Europe’s most exciting young players.
Dybala is likely to leave the Italian club and Maurizio Zamparini, Palermo’s President, has previously revealed interest in the player from Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus and PSG, but Inter have now lined up.
“Could Dybala’s future be at Inter? Good players always fit in at good teams. If we have only the slightest chance to sign him, we will go for it,” Inter legend Javier Zanetti told Goal.com.
“But we have to be realistic. We must respect the FFP rules.
“I am not surprised by his superb performances. I saw him play in Argentina before and his ability already stood out then. He has been performing very consistently this season and he has a bright future ahead of him.”
Zanetti also talked about the striker Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with Chelsea this season.
“Mauro is very calm and serene about his future. You clearly see that he’s enjoying himself on the pitch,” he said.
“We are very happy to have him in our team. We are close to agreeing a contract renewal with Mauro. He will be important for Inter in the future.”
