Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is convinced that two consecutive Chelsea’s victories meant that fans and the players can be optimistic about the upcoming match against Tottenham on Sunday.
The Spaniard admits that the recent victories have given the team a big boost in confidence.
Azpilicueta told Chelsea’s official website:
”It’s a start ”
” Obviously we want to carry on, we are in a position where we’ve come from two wins in a row, two games in which we’ve played really well and players are getting confidence back. ”
”We’ll take it step by step. Now we have a tough game against Tottenham away on Sunday and we want to keep going.”
”We were playing well in the last few games (prior to Norwich) but we didn’t get the results we deserved. Obviously for confidence it’s hard but you have to face the reality, keep working, keep trying and I think now the results are coming for us. ”
”I think at this stage last season I hadn’t played so many games on the right but my goal and my target is always the same – to help the team,’’
” I feel comfortable in both positions so I’m ready for the manager when he wants me to play. ”
”In the Premier League we played a tough game there and it was a hard defeat to take but we played them in the League Cup final after that and won, so every game is different.”
”We are confident, we have to keep going and try to get the three points.”
The Blues will try to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday following wins over Norwich City and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
