Asmir Begovic believes that the Chelsea players will be able to cope with the absence of Jose Mourinho during Saturday’s match against Stoke City. At the same time he assured that he and his team did not give up the fight for the top four in the Premier League.
“We are looking to get back-to-back wins regardless. It’s something we need to do. ”
”We had a little run last month when we had three in a row and that put us in a good position. We want to try and put results together in the League. Beating Kiev was a good start and, hopefully, we will carry on from here. There will be a different mood in training when we report back today. The atmosphere is always good after a win and the manager will have us well prepared for Saturday.”
”We haven’t given up on a place in the top four even though we are 10 points behind. We know we are a good team and once our form clicks we will push up the League very quickly. We have to take it step by step and pick up those points.”
Speaking about yesterday’s win over Dynamo Kiev and forecasts for future matches in the Champions League, he said :
“It was a big win against Dynamo and puts us in a good situation with a couple of games left in the group. We will get confidence from it.”
“It’s in our hands now and that’s all you can ask for. We feel confident with the two games we have left we can get the job done to get to the last 16 and then we go from there.”
