Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has suggested that Ivanovic’s injury has a positive effect on Chelsea’s defence as they seem to play better without the Serbian defender.
Ivanovic has been absent from Chelsea’s last three games due to a hamstring problem and according to the latest information will return at the end of next month.
Quite unexpectedly former striker suggested that the lack of Ivanovic in the team has a positive effect on the Blues.
Cascarino told talkSPORT:
”Ivanovic’s form was alarming, it wasn’t just that he was indifferent.”
“”Then Jose defended him, alongside [Cesc] Fabregas, and yet we’re thinking, ‘really Jose’?”
”You’re the guy who sees everything first and you can’t see Ivanovic has been that bad that your team look better when he got injured, because it looked like they were a bit more solid.”
