Ex Chelsea player Carlo Cudicini gave his opinion about the situation that his former team-mate Petr Cech is going through in this campaign.
The Czech goalkeeper was relagated to Number Two after Mourinho decided to promote young prodigy Thibaut Courtois to the new Number One of the team, and Cech admitted is not ready to struggle for a place in the starting eleven for one more year, so he is now keen to leave Chelsea after eleven years.
Cudicini was the one that lived a similar situation when Cech joined the Blues from Rennes in 2004, and was relagated to Number Two after being the Number One for four years: he stayed five more years and knows Cech very well.
Many reports suggest that Arsenal are trying to sign the Czech goalkeeper for next season, and when asked about this possible deal Cudicini said:
“I agree. Arsenal have had a few problems with goalkeepers after [David] Seaman and [Jens] Lehmann.
“Szczesny is still struggling to impose himself as number one, so if a goalkeeper like Petr Cech is available in the summer, obviously he should be a big target for Arsenal”
