After moving from Chelsea to Sunderland the past week Papy Djilobodji is determined to show everyone that he was worth a Blues shirt, especially to José Mourinho, that didn’t believe in him very much after signing him in the last day of the transfer window last year:
“There are plenty of people who say that I wasn’t good enough for Chelsea.
“I want to show that I could have played, to enjoy myself and to please everyone.
Speaking about Mourinho and the chances he didn’t get under him he said:
“I’m not the type of person who goes to see the coach to ask him to play me – I never did that.
“One of Mourinho’s assistants told me to go talk to him but, no, I didn’t want to.
“What I was showing in training, for me, was sufficient. Beyond that, if he wants to put me in, it’s good.”
