Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has urged Jose Mourinho to stop criticizing his players in the media because it has a bad effect on the morale of the team.
After a series of bad performances, Chelsea is a step away from the relegation zone. However, many people believes that the Portuguese coach instead of concentrating on the team, mainly engages in criticizing his players and speaking out about them contemptuously.
The Brazilian who played under Mourinho for one season is convinced, that the comments made by the Special One can be damaging to players.
Luis told Yahoo Sports:
”He [Mourinho] has his way of talking to the press, especially when the team loses, which can sometimes be damaging to certain players,”
”Some players benefit from criticism but for others they don’t.”
However, it should be recalled that Filipe Luis has failed to impress at Chelsea and during the summer transfer window he returned to Atletico Madrid after just one season.
