Former QPR and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp gave his opinion about John Terry‘s contract situation, claiming the Chelsea skipper can still make his impact in the Premier League, also in other clubs:
“West Ham would be a good move for West Ham and John,” Redknapp told BT Sport.
“He was at West Ham as a schoolboy.”
Terry, born near Barking, joined West Ham’s academy as a child after impressing for Sunday league side Senrab, he then signed for Chelsea when he was about 14.
Redknapp doesn’t believe the former England captain should leave the Premier League and claims he could have helped Manchester City to win the title had they signed him in the January transfer window.
“If I had been at Man City I’d have got on the phone on deadline day and tried to take him now,” the English coach added.
“I’d have said: ‘If you ain’t giving him another contract, we’ll take him.’
“He could have won the league for Man City. They wouldn’t have got smashed up like they did by Leicester. He’d have marked Robert Huth better from set plays than whoever did on Saturday.”
