Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne are team-mates in the Belgian national team, but most of all are friends and until fifteen months ago…they were also sharing dressing room at Chelsea.
Being away from London for his international duties with Belgium, Hazard shared some of his thoughts with L’Equipe on De Bruyne’s transfer to Wolfsburg in January 2014:
“Sure, he’s a great player. Mourinho decided to let him go and not to play him. It’s not my decision. Even though I know very well that he could play at Chelsea because he has tremendous qualities.
“I think that at Chelsea you have more pressure than at Wolfsburg. I would have loved to play with him. It’s a shame he’s gone but he’ll have a great career.”
De Bruyne’s good performances at the Belgian side has been attracting the interest of many of Europe’s top clubs and even Chelsea have been linked with a move for their former player.
De Bruyne also claimed he will not play for Wolfsburg forever, adding fuel to fire.
We will see an incredible return next summer?
