Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink praised his former player Ronald Koeman, now Southampton manager, for his job at Saints.
The pair worked together when the Dutch coach managed PSV Eindhoven to become Champions of Europe back in 1986/1987: Koeman was one the key players of that side and then they also collaborated for Holland federation some years ago, so they know each other very well:
“It’s easy to say now but I have never had doubts about him becoming a manager because he’s got a great personality.
“As a manager during the game you have not much power, but as I’ve always said a team need a spine to work on, and he was in this spine of my PSV team and he was one of the leaders.
“He’s doing a terrific job, this year, they had a setback, but then they recover.
“He’s been around in Holland or southern Europe, he’s showing to be a very good and stable manager. He’s showing stability.”
