Ian Wright: “Sanchez over Hazard”

Ian Wright has revealed on BT Sport that he would prefer Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez ahead of Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard.

Wright made 221 appearances for the Gunners between 1991-98, and said: “I will have to go for Alexis Sanchez because I am an Arsenal man”, he told BT Sport’s football show, after he was asked to choose his fantasy league preference between Hazard and Sanchez.

“Purely because of that. I love Eden Hazard, but I am not going to upset Arsenal fans right now.”

Sanchez has been in good form in his debut season in England, with a return of 14 goals. The Chilean, who moved from Barcelona in the summer for £30 million, has become an instant fan favourite at the Emirates. The 14 goals, the most recent being a stunning strike against Liverpool on Saturday, have come in just 27 Premier League appearances, as well as plenty of assists.

Hazard on the other hand has been a key player for the Blues, helping himself with 12 goals so far this campaign and has been tipped by many to claim the best Player of the Year award.
