Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic the author of the first goal against Sunderland admitted that the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was really extraordinary today .

Chelsea fans regularly chanted the name of Mourinho and made it clear what they think about releasing the Special One. What is more Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa were booed each time when their names were read out. Serbian footballer admits, however, that the players Chelsea will have to face a great challenge now – regaining the trust of fans.

Ivanovic said:

“We started the game well. The first couple of goals helped make the pressure on us before the game go away.”

“The early goal brings you confidence, which you need for this kind of game. When we concede we are still a little bit shaking, we don’t have confidence to hold this pressure but we will improve.”

“I can understand the frustration of the fans, it is normal. We all know what Jose Mourinho to this club and nothing can change that. It was an emotional day for all of us.”

“We all have responsibility. The players put Chelsea in this position and the only way to change this position is the players. We have to be strong as a group.”
