Juventus sport director Giuseppe Marotta is confident about Cuadrado’s performances for this season.
The Colombian winger, that impressed in the past campaigns in Serie A with Lecce, Udinese and Fiorentina, was a flop at Chelsea and didn’t make an impact in his five months at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues loaned him to Juventus to help him to find back his confidence and good form, and the Bianconeri’s director stated, in an interview to Corriere dello Sport, that he’s not as skeptical as many people in Italy about Cuadrado:
“I do see comparisons between the arrival of Cuadrado and those of Tevez and Andrea Pirlo, as they too were signed amid scepticism and did great things.
“We have a core of the squad that brought great success in recent years,” he added.
“We’ve got a great squad that won everything last season except the Champions League. It’ll be tough to better the 2014-15 campaign.”
