Romelu Lukaku moved last summer from Chelsea to Everton for £28m.
The Belgian striker, 22, had incredible potential but Chelsea managers believed he couldn’t fit in their squad, so he was sold to Everton in the last summer transfer window. Diego Costa replaced him – the Spaniard has been one of the most important players in the team during this campaign, with 20 goals scored, 19 in the Premier League.
Lukaku has netted 18 goals for the Toffees in all competitions this season, two less than Costa, including eight in the PL and eight in the Europa League.
Recently, Lukaka has recruited a new agent, Mino Raiola, who also serves as agent for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba among others.
Raiola today claimed that Lukaku is better than Costa, and that Chelsea made a mistake in letting him go, stating also that if he had become his agent before, he may not of joined Everton:
“If we had met each other earlier, he wouldn’t have played for Everton. Maybe somewhere else, maybe he would still be at Chelsea.”
“I want to be clear: Romelu is a better striker than Diego Costa and could have done the same as the Spaniard did this season.”
“But the Chelsea directors had decided to buy another star than giving confidence to one of their young boys. We will see what happens in the summer, but the Everton directors don’t have to think Rom will play there for the rest of his career.”
“Later on, he’ll play for one of the world’s best teams: PSG, Manchester City, Manchester United or Bayern Munich. Big names, but nothing is impossible as Rom has great potential.”
