Thiago Motta will face Chelsea again for a couple of times in one month, in fact the Blues and PSG are set to play in Champions League between the 16 February and 9 March.
The two teams already clashed in the past two years in the same competition: in 2014 was in the quarter finals, last year was in the last 16.
The first time was Chelsea to knocked the French side out, in 2015 PSG went through after a thrilling game at Stamford Bridge, where everything was decided after extra time, Thiago Silva &Co. went to quarter finals after the skipper scored in the last minute, and Chelsea went out of the competition on away goals ( 1-1 in Paris and 2-2 in London).
Thiago Motta has been at PSG for four years, so he remembers these clashes very well.
And he also know very well ex Chelsea manager José Mourinho, who was his boss at Inter in 2009-2010, when the Italian side won the treble.
The Italian- Brazilian born- midfielder claims now can be more difficult for PSG, since they don’t know Chelsea’s playing style very well like before:
“It is more difficult without Mourinho,” he said speaking to French radio.
“They have changed the way they play. When we played them in the last two seasons, they were a counter-attacking team who did not want the ball. Now, they try to play. It will be difficult.”
On PSG chances to
“When I was at Inter, in January 2010, nobody thought we could win the Champions League – even us!,” he revealed.
“At the end, we managed to do it.
“Right now, I think five or six teams can get to the final. Atletico Madrid did it – why not PSG?”.
