Former Everton player Andy Grey is convinced that John Stones perfectly fits Chelsea.
The 59-year-old former Everton player is convinced that John Stones would be a great successor to John Terry at Chelsea.
Andy Gray told talkSPORT:
“John Stones is good and he could be one of the best. He’s got every quality that you need to be a top centre-back,”
“He seems to have a good personality and is good on the football. Maybe he’s just a little bit too elaborate at times for a young boy at centre-back, but that’s more about his confidence than anything else.”
“If you’re losing John Terry in the next year to 18 months, and you’re asking me whether he’s a player who would fit in at Chelsea, then 100 per cent. It makes absolute sense. He’s British, which helps. He might cost £30million but he can only get better under the right guidance.”
The Premier League champions had their initial bid of £20m rejected by the Toffees but The Sun claims that Chelsea are ready to make a new £25m offer for Everton star this week.
