Kurt Zouma has decided to say a few words to comment on the last match against Barcelona

Chelsea centre back has discussed a few aspects of the latest match against Barcelona:

”It was a good match and the most important thing was that we won the game and we wanted to win,’’

‘It was a bit warm but not too bad. There was a nice pitch with good support and it was good to play.”

He admitted that the pre-season matches helped him get ready for Sunday’s battle against Arsenal in the Community Shield.

‘‘We have to play games of 90 minutes to be fit and ready for the match against Arsenal and that was a good part for the team and for me. Now we have to get ready for Sunday’s game.’’

Zuma has praised his teammate Gary Cahill for his sacrifice to the team:

‘’Gary sacrificed himself for the team and scored the goal. I enjoy working with good defenders like Gary and John [Terry], I learn a lot and I hope that I will be there for a long time.’’

In the third minute of the meeting Zouma was close to score the goal, but Ter Stegen defended the hit:

‘‘I thought that the goal was in but the goalkeeper did well, it was a great save so unlucky, but next time we will see.’’

Zouma has a past history of playing right-back while yesterday he performed for the first time in midfield:

”It is a new position for me, I played there only one time when I was at Vaulx-En-Velin, but I have to help the team and the boss put me at left-back and it was not a problem. I just wanted to play and enjoy the game and the most important thing was that we win and I could help the team.’’

At the end of the interview, he admitted he did not expect that Chelsea are so popular in the United States:

‘I did not expect that, I did not know that Chelsea was so big in this part of the world and we have to give everything – for us and for them as well.’
