Watford manager Walter Mazzarri was caught on camera muttering that “hopefully I won’t have to see” Antonio Conte again after the Chelsea game.
Last night the Blues beat the Hornets 4-3 at Stamford Bridge, celebrating the Premier League title with their fans.
In his post-match Press conference, Mazzarri sat down and muttered in Italian to his translator: “Has he gone? Conte? Good. Hopefully I won’t have to see him again…”
The two Italian managers have been in a feud for many years, since Mazzarri’s Napoli challenged Conte’s Juventus for the Scudetto some years ago.
It then continued when Mazzarri moved to Inter and has seemingly now been switched to the Premier League.
However, news agency ANSA report that Watford sent them a note insisting the comment “was not referring to Conte.”
