After Chelsea’s last gasp derby victory of struggling QPR, we look at how well the Blues team performed.
Courtois: 7 – Made a couple of very good saves and commanded his area well.
Ivanovic: 7 – A good all round performance, kept QPR quiet on his side.
Cahill: 7 – An improved performance, the long ball tactics made sure he could use his aerial ability to good use.
Terry: 7.5 – A good performance despite receiving a lot of abuse from the home crowd. QPR’s strikers found little space.
Azpilicueta: 7 – Appeared quite overawed by the derby atmosphere to begin with but improved.
Ramires 5 – Was only on for the first half and a bit of second, struggled to influence the game. Chelsea improved after Oscar replaced him.
Matic 7 – Got better after a slow start.
Willian 6.5 – Hit the post with a cross early on, solid performance.
Fàbregas 7 – Couldn’t control the pace of the game for large periods but scored the winning goal brilliantly.
Hazard 7.5 – Was heavily marked but still managed to be the best player on the pitch. Assisted the winning goal. Man of the Match.
Drogba 7 – Worked hard but couldn’t influence the game as he has done in previous years and was often left isolated.
Zouma: N/A – Brought on for Fabregas in the 92nd minuted, barely touched the ball.
Oscar: 7 – Came on for Ramires early in the second half and played with significant pace and threatened the QPR goal when others hadn’t. Much improved compared to recent performances.
Cuadrado: 6 – Came on to add pace but struggled to get into the game.
Jose Mourinho: 7 – Was probably right to start Ramires instead of Oscar as the latter’s speed hurt the QPR’s tiring defence. A good all-round managerial performance; made substitutes at the right time and made the right ones.
