Zola speaks highly of a number of players he worked with.

It was more than 14 years ago that Leicester last claimed a win against their rivals tonight.

A 2-1 victory saw the Foxes move above Chelsea into sixth spot. That was the time when Chelsea had a big Italian influence, the coach was Claudio Ranieri who replaced Gianluca Vialli early that season – as well as four players: Sam Dalla Bona, Carlo Cudicini, Roberto Di Matteo and the unforgettable ‘Magic Box’ Gianfranco Zola. Leicester on the hand could play Roberto Mancini who arrived on loan from Lazio a couple of weeks before.

The complete 2000 – 2001 first team, romantic eh.

The Blues were still wearing those fascinating jerseys made by Umbro and most of the players had total black boots that seems a utopia looking to the fancy style of players today.

Leicester halted their league slump with a gutsy win to leave Chelsea still looking for their first away victory of the season. Defender Gary Rowett sealed a valuable Filbert Street triumph with a well-taken strike 13 minutes from the final whistle, despite for the opening 20 minutes Chelsea played like a side who really believed they might be able to find that elusive away victory. Early in the match, at the 23re minute midfielder Muzzy Uzzet – grew in Chelsea young teams – put Leicester up with a great header on the far post. Later came the equalizer at the 75th minute from Jimmy Floyd Hasseilbank with a well-taken header from Wise’s cross. But the winner score was taken two minutes after the Forxes Matt Elliott beat the Chelsea central defenders to a header and the ball fell to the full-back at the far post, who finished it like a born striker.

This performance was more than a decade ago and the situation of the two clubs has completely changed looking at the current Premier League table. Chelsea are striving to win the league and Leicester are fighting to be part of the next top-flight season.

Here were the starting line-up for the nostalgic supporters:
