Gonzalo Higuain is expected to fly to London on Tuesday to finalize a loan move to Chelsea, according to reports in Italy and England.

The Argentine striker reportedly won’t be allowed to leave the club and undergo his medical at Chelsea until AC Milan have completed the signing of Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa CFC.

Higuain has been left out of tomorrow’s clash against Genoa CFC and will move from his parent club Juventus to Stamford Bridge on a six-month loan.

Speaking at a press conference, AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso told journalists: “I accept his decision. He could have done something more and maybe we could have helped him fit in better”.

Cesc Fabregas will captain Chelsea today in the upcoming FA Cup game against Nottingham Forest, which will be his last game in a Blues’ shirt before a move to AS Monaco.

The Spaniard, who looks set to leave Stamford Bridge in January after turning down a potential switch to Serie A giants AC Milan, will start in midfield along with Ethan Ampadu and Ross Barkley.

Here’s the starting XI for Chelsea: Caballero; Zappacosta, Christensen, David Luiz, Palmieri; Ampadu, Fabregas, Barkley; Loftus-Cheek, Morata, Hudson-Odoi

According to reports from Italian Sport MediasetChelsea and Ac Milan are close to a swap deal involing Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain.

If this swap deal is finally concluded, the Spanish striker will move to the Italian side on an 18-month loan, while Higuain will become a Blues’ player on a six-month loan. Then the London club will have to reach another deal with Juventus if they want to sign Higuain on a permanent basis during next summer transfer window.

After playing yesterday vs Mol Vidi in Chelsea‘s last game in the Europa League‘s group stage, the Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas claimed he is frustrated for the few chances Maurizio Sarri is giving him during this season.

“I know what my role is. Unfortunately it’s not the one I want,” Fabregas said when asked about his role as backup. “I’m keeping it professional as usual. I’m always trying to do my best, in the conditions, playing with the youngsters, playing with the first team, even though this year I still haven’t played with the full, full first team one game.”

In the last few weeks Cesc Fabregas has been also linked to a move to Ac Milan in the next transfer window or next summer.

In the last few weeks, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been linked with a move in the January transfer window as Ac Milan have showed interest in signing the Spaniard.

Now, Fabregas himself confirms he can soon leave Stamford Bridge or, at least reach a deal with another club:

We have a good squad with a lot of valuable players. I’m at Stamford Bridge and I’m happy, but it’s clear that every player wants to play more”. Fabregas told Football Italia. “I haven’t talked to anyone, but it’s obvious that if I haven’t signed a renewal then I can do a deal with someone from January and will probably attract a lot of clubs. Will I stay until the end of the season? For now I can say yes.”

After signing Tiemoué Bakayoko on loan in the last summer transfer window AC Milan are interested to loan another Chelsea player, Andreas Christensen.

The Denmark international has struggled for first-team football since Maurizio Sarri summer arrived at Stamford Bridge in July and is yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea are reportedly determined to keep the 22-year-old, while Christensen himself has hinted that he doesn’t want to leave in January despite being unhappy with his current situation.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Milan are still interested in the Denmark international and will look to prise him away from Stamford Bridge when the transfer window reopens.

Milan are understood to be in the market for defensive reinforcements due to injury issues – all of their starting defenders are out for at least one month – and believe Christensen could be an ideal signing.

AC Milan wanted to cancel Tiemoué Bakayoko‘s loan next January due to his poor performances in this start of the season but recently the Italian club changed his mind.

The 24-year-old improved in his playing but, furthermore, the Rossoneri suffered a lot long-term injuries in the past weeks and cannot reduce their squad anymore.

Giacomo Bonaventura underwent a knee-surgery yesterday and will come back next season, Argentine international Lucas Biglia will be out for 4 months and Calahnoglu is a doubt for the next games for an old foot issue.

All the starting defenders are out as well ( Caldara for 3 months, Musacchio for 2, Romagnoli for 1 and Calabria is a doubt for the next games).

Because of this difficult situation and Bakayoko’s improvements in Serie A the Italian side decided to keep him for the rest of the season.

Last week some rumours circulated about a possible return of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea in January after the London club have sent him to play for Ac Milan on a season-long loan.

Speaking to SportWitness however, Bakayoko’s agent Federico Pastorello strongly denied these rumours: “Bakayoko is happy in Milan and Milan are happy with him. It was known he would need a bit of time, but everyone is convinced he can contribute a lot to their season”. Pastorello said. “All this chatter about a return to Chelsea in January is completely unfounded.”
