Alvaro Morata

Yesterday Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata and his agent met Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici so many interpreted this meeting as the first step for a possible return of the Spanish player to the Italian champions.

However, today, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta denied the club is interested in Morata: “These are simply rumours. I want to deny them, we don’t want to deceive anyone”. Marotta said during the launch of a book about Juventus. “We already have a great attack of international calibre, so it’s an area where we don’t have to make any bets. Therefore, at this point, any operation seems totally utopian”.

Giuseppe Marotta also claimed there’s the chance Morata himself would love to play again for Juventus as he remembers the time he spent with the “Bianconeri”: Now we are in the most important phase of the transfer market, so as always, every day, they link Juventus with many players,” Marotta went on. “That also applies to the Morata affair which is on the agenda today. The fact is that the most important players of this Agnelli cycle who have gone away all carry with them a great memory of Juventus, and almost all of them want to savour the Juventus climate”.

Atletico Madrid are lining-up a summer move to land Alvaro Morata from Chelsea as they remain keen to replace Antoine Griezmann if the Frenchman leaves the club, according to Italian publication Tuttosport this morning.

We reported earlier last night that Morata and Lopez were spotted in Milan on Wednesday ahead of a meeting with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, who’s reportedly closing on a move to sign also full-back Matteo Darmian from Manchester United and Premier League.

Juventus are closing on a move to sign also Liverpool star Emre Can and Italian goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

Current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Pablo Simeone was spotted while shouting at Alvaro Morata in Champions League clash against Real Madrid earlier in 2017 and some reports in Spain suggested he asked him to join Los Colchoneros in the future.

However Morata himself revealed a few weeks later: “He came to me and asked me a croissant from the brand I have launched.”

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea in July on a permanent move from Real Madrid.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata was pictured in Milan with his agent Juanma Lopez today.

The Blues forward, coming from a patchy first season at Stamford Brigde, was in Italy to meet Juventus sport director Fabio Paratici, with whom he had lunch on Wednesday.

Morata, whose pregnant wife is Italian, would love to return to Serie A, as he probably lived the best two campaigns of his career while at Juventus between 2014 and 2016.

The Spanish striker, who was let down by his exclusion from the Spain squad who will travel to Russia for World Cup 2018, moved to London from Real Madrid in a £ 70m deal last summer and Juventus would be keen to sign him back for a similar fee.

The talks have just started.

Former Blues striker Hernan Crespo reckons Alvaro Morata should stay at Chelsea, despite a patchy first season.

The Spaniard had a super start, with 11 goals scored in the first four months of the season, but then he had a tormented second part of the season, since he has scored only 3 goals since January.

It was rumoured that Juventus were ready to offer £ 60m to Chelsea to sign him back ( Morata already played in the Bianconeri between 2014 and 2016) but, according to Crespo, Morata would have to stay in the Premier League:

“I think he is a great player,” Crespo, who returns to play at Stamford Bridge on Friday as Chelsea Legends face Inter Forever, told Goal.

He is a young player who has a lot of trophies already.

“However, you need to be patient. He has showed he is a very good striker, but normally when you play in a big team it is difficult to be at a high level for the whole year. In the past, the same thing happened at Juventus, but that is because he is young.

“He can be the future of Chelsea but it depends on him. It is important to see if he is happy. If he is happy at Chelsea and he can show his best in this team then it would be great for everyone, but if he wants to come back to Juventus and make another experience then we will see.

“It is different than my experience at Chelsea because I was older than him. I had already been past my best level. The Premier League at that time wasn’t the best in the world. Now it is. At that time, when I played, Serie A was actually the best. Then, AC Milan called me, the second time was Inter.

“It was difficult for me to adapt that way around. If you want me to offer my personal opinion, I say stay at Chelsea! Show your best there because you play in the best league in the world. Chelsea can win the league again. They have big decisions to make, to go with Conte or not.

“For the players, though, everything is clear for their futures, it is down to them to choose. I think he should stay and that’s regardless of the manager, but you never know, whoever the manager is may have other ideas.”

Alvaro Morata‘s experience at Stamford Bridge could reach the end of the line soon, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is understood Juventus are keeping tabs on the Chelsea striker, who scored 11 goals in his first Premier League season, and remain confident he would be eager to move back to Turin.

Morata was a key player for Juventus until June 2016, when Real Madrid signed him on a £30m move, and La Gazzetta dello Sport believes Massimiliano Allegri wants a reunion with the current Chelsea striker.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata scored a crucial goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton last time out, when the Blues booked a place into the final. Antonio Conte’s men remain 5 points behind Tottenham in 5th place, however the Spaniard is confidident ahead of today’s clash at Swansea.

“If we win we will put a bit of pressure on Tottenham before they play and that’s all we can do” Morata told Chelsea’s official website.

“We have to get as many points as possible because we want to fight until the end to try to finish in the top four. We are Chelsea and we want to play in the Champions League”.

Alvaro Morata scored a crucial goal as Chelsea cruised to comfortable 2-0 win at Wembley Stadium against Southampton. The Spaniard told the club’s official TV: “It was a very good match. I could have scored another goal at the last moment, I was a little bit unlucky but we are in the final and that’s the most important thing, we are happy”.

“I always say thanks to Azpi because this year he knows where I want the ball and it’s great to have all of the assists from him.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte explained reasons behind his decision to start with Olivier Giroud instead of Alvaro Morata as lone striker in the FA Cup final against Southampton on Sunday.

The Italian told journalists: “I decided to start with Olivier [Giroud] because I knew we had to play against the three central defenders, very strong physically, so I decided to start with Olivier. But when Morata came on, the impact was impressive. In the same way as Pedro’s impact, which was important. And also [Tiemoue] Bakayoko”.

“Morata is an important striker. I think he’s younger than Olivier. He has less experience. He is less strong physically but, at the same time, is very fast to act on the space. I’m pleased for both, for both, because in the last game against Burnley we started the game with both players and they showed a great link-up. I’m very pleased to see that, because I have another option now. Another card in my hand during the game”.
