Tonight Under 21's are playing a home-game at Aldershot against Liverpool

Tonight the young Blues are facing the young Reds at Aldershot at 7.05 pm.

Last Monday Chelsea U21’s played against Fulham, securing a 3-1 win thanks to Dominic Solanke and Charly Musonda. The young Blues players are going into the game unbeaten in four and off the back of three consecutive victories.

The assistant coach Andy Myers is understandably pleased with the players, since they scored five goals without reply in the previous matches against Southampton and Everton.

“The boys are confident, it’s been good to keep a couple of clean sheets recently while at the same time playing well and getting results,” he tells the official Chelsea website.

“It’s important not to be overly confident but the boys are maturing and now they know what needs to be done.”

Andy Myers is confident Chelsea U21’s can maintain this recent form.

“We need to maintain the winning habit to keep the pressure on the teams above us,” says Myers.

“Tomorrow’s game is a really big one because Liverpool are in the same situation as ourselves, so it’s important for both sides. We want to put the pressure on so teams in front of us have to keep looking over their shoulders.”

Supporters are being encouraged to watch the game at Aldershot tonight as all proceeds raised will go to the Disaster and Emergency Committee (DEC) Nepal Appeal.

Myers really hopes they will raise a lot of money.

“It’s so important to raise money for the victims of the Nepal earthquake because obviously what happened was really shocking,” he adds.

“I think it will be a good game and the fact it’s for such a good cause makes it even more important to get a big crowd.”
