Borussia Dortmund has just announced Christian Pulisic will join Chelsea next summer, in a £57.6m move from the Bundesliga giants.

The 20-year-old will be loaned back to the German club for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.

An official statement read:Borussia Dortmund has agreed a fee from Chelsea for the transfer of Christian Pulisic with immediate effect.

The British side will loan the player until the end of the current season to Borussia. Pulisic’s transfer will be completed until the 2019/2020 season. The transfer fee to be paid by Chelsea for Pulisic, whose BVB contract would have expired at the end of next season, is 64 million euros”.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said: “It was always Christian’s dream to play in the Premier League. That certainly has to do with his American background, and as a result we were unable to extend his contract, “

“Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity.”

“Christian Pulisic, is a perfect player. I am sure that in the coming months he will do everything in his power to bring his high quality to the team and to achieve his sporting goals with his Borussia Dortmund teammates. “

Gianfranco Zola, who’s set to take part of Maurizio Sarri‘s backroom staff, is confident “the clubs are working on” the deal to bring the Italian manager to Stamford Bridge in the next few hours.

The Chelsea legend told Sky in Italy: “There’s so much talk. There are many teams who would like a coach like Sarri. I think the parties are working on it, but I don’t know anything more.

“Antonio Conte did a great job. If Sarri were to go to Chelsea I hope he’s allowed to work as he wants, because that’s how he can improve teams.

“It’s definitely a different challenge, Chelsea is a new situation. I hope Maurizio will get the chance to do top work.”

LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 30: Gary Cahill of Chelsea and David Silva of Manchester City battle for possession during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on September 30, 2017 in London, England.

A new mid-season break for teams and players, which will start from the 2019/20 season, has been announced by the FA, Premier League and EFL yesterday.

An official statement published on their official website read: The two-week mid-season player break will take place in February and would be structured to ensure that Premier League matches would still be played every weekend over that period.

Each weekend during the break will feature five Premier League games on the first weekend and five on the following weekend.

To incorporate this, The FA has agreed to move the Emirates FA Cup fifth round matches to midweek. In addition, from the start of the 2019-20 season, fifth round replays will be removed from the calendar, being replaced with extra-time and penalties in the first tie.

All three divisions within the EFL will remain unchanged, with a full League programme for all 72 EFL Clubs taking place on each of the weekends where there is a break.

In January 2018, The FA confirmed that it would more than double the Emirates FA Cup prize fund from the 2018-19 season. This substantial increase on prize money will benefit all participating clubs at every stage of the world’s oldest domestic cup competition”.

Chelsea have announced that a planning permission for a new stadium at Stamford Bridge was granted tonight.

An official statement read:

More than a year ago, a planning application for a new stadium at Stamford Bridge with an expanded seating capacity was submitted to our local council, Hammersmith & Fulham.

Over the past 12 months we have consulted widely with neighbouring residents, local businesses, statutory authorities and continued to work closely with the council.

Tonight the council’s planning committee considered the application and we are grateful that planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of our historic home.

The committee decision does not mean that work can begin on site. This is just the latest step, although a significant one, that we have to take before we can commence work, including obtaining various other permissions.

We will continue to inform you of progress throughout this process.

Thank you for your continued support.

Shocking announcement from a Chelsea rival, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Speaking to the NBC the ex Barcelona coach announced he is close to end his manager career:

“I will be in Manchester for at least other three years, but I feel the process to end my career has already started.

“I won’t coach until I will be 60-65 years old, I am sure I am getting close to my manager’s career end.”

Will Manchester City and Premier League be the last team coached by the Spanish manager or Pep will change his mind in the next three years?
