Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte didn’t crossed their paths at Juventus for a couple of days when, back in summer 2014, the Spanish striker signed for the Bianconeri just a few days after the current Chelsea coach left in the middle of the pre-season for some misunderstandings with the board.

After improving his playing in the two years spent in Italy, where he scored 27 goals in 93 appearances, Morata joined Real Madrid back last summer.

The Spaniard was often linked to Chelsea but, as Spanish outlet AS reports, he dismissed those speculations adding a malicious comment on the current Blues manager:

“If Conte is continuing to call me then it will be my old mobile phone because nothing has come to me.

“He won’t have my new number.”

The 24-year-old also claimed he is in a good situation in the Spanish capital now:

“I feel good at Real Madrid and that is the important thing. I’m getting goals, I feel important and I have to keep it that way.

“I cannot think about next season when we have the most important and hardest part of this season in front of us now.

“The most important thing is that we have won against Leganes. Now we have a difficult schedule and have to win everything possible. That is what we are here for.”

Chelsea star Diego Costa will not face any retrospective FA action after appearing to kick out at Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany in last night win over Pep Guardiola‘s side.

There had been suggestions Costa could miss next two-three games in the title race after appearing to kick out at Citizens defender Kompany, but the striker will not face any sanction.

The reason is that match referee Mike Dean saw the second-half incident and dealt with it at the time, meaning FA cannot take any retrospective action.

Neither Chelsea boss Antonio Conte nor City manager Guardiola saw the Spaniard striker catch Vincent Kompany with his studs in midfield.

“I didn’t see it, but during the game it’s very difficult,” Conte said after the game.

“Yes, you see this kind of contact but it’s impossible to tell, to judge this kind of contact.”

Former English referee Mike Webb commented:

“If there was a foul before, and this happens afterwards, then maybe the FA might want to look at it as an act of violent conduct.

“But because this is the foul that Mike Dean penalises, then he has seen it, made a judgement on it and the FA don’t review situations where the referee has seen it.

“Is it violent conduct? It’s a subjective call but he puts his foot and doesn’t really follow through. I think it is worthy of a yellow card but probably just short of violent conduct.”

Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois made some crucial saves against Manchester City despite an unexpected goalkeeping error in Sergio Aguero’s equalizer at 25′ which ruined his great performance.

The Belgian star, when asked about Chelsea teammate and compatriot Eden Hazard, told Standard Sport: “Yes. Eden is one of the best players in the world. Chelsea have ambitions to win the Champions League again and always look to play for the title. If you want to do that, you need the biggest players and he is obviously a big part of that.”

It is understood Real Madrid are hoping they can sign Hazard in the next transfer window, but Courtois claimed: “Eden is not affected by it. They are just rumours. He is just calm. He knows that he is important to Chelsea, like I do”.

“We are both very happy to be here. This was my 100th game for Chelsea and I hope for many more” added Courtois, who has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga too.

Hazard was named man of the match against Manchester City: “Eden is a great player and showed it again against Manchester City – Courtois added – It was a great first goal. His penalty was from the rebound, which reminded me a bit of what happened against Crystal Palace when we clinched the League two years ago. Hopefully it will go the same way”.

“He is fantastic, but he works hard for the team too and did a lot defensively, which is what we need from him. I am very happy for him.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte praised his guys’ reaction after the defeat with Crystal Palace: the win against Manchester City tonight meant another step toward the title:

At this time of the season it’s easy to be nervous. There’s a lot of pressure. In the last game we lost and we didn’t deserve to,” the Italian manager told Match of the Day.

“Our reaction was very good. Our look was strong. We showed what it is to be a good team. When you face this type of team, it’s not easy. I want to thank to the crowd because they pushed us.

“Now with eight games to go, we know Tottenham can win eight so we need to take 18 points to have it mathematically.

“I think it’s right to think we will be pushed to the end. When you see your opponents continue to win, you must win to win the title. That’s all we have to do.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke after the game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

“We played against the strongest team in Premier League, – the Italian manager said – A team with an important idea of football”.

“We bounced back from our last undeserved defeat against Crystal Palace and now it’s important to rest because we have to play another game [at Bournemouth] in three days”.

Tottenham won an incredible game against Swansea with a late turnaround from 1-0 to 1-3.

“Tottenham showed today that they can win every game and then we need to earn at least 18 points to be sure of the title”.

Then Antonio Conte has confirmed he’ll stay at Chelsea next season: “I don’t like when someone else speaks for me, now we are fighting gritting our teeth to win the title, then we will try to build something important in view of next season”.

Chelsea star and man of the match Eden Hazard spoke after his side’s home win against Manchester City.

“It’s a big win, of course, – the Belgian star said after the game – I don’t know if the way we played was beautiful. But the most important thing is to win games”.

“The way we play can be better. But it was a good win against a great team. It’s always a real battle when you play against Man City. In the first half we did everything. The result is 2-1 and we’re happy today”.

The Belgian star shined in Chelsea clash at Stamford Bridge as he scored a crucial brace: “I try to do my best and help the team to win games. – he said – We have eight games to play and we want to win the title. That’s our target”.

“We are nearly there but there’s a long way to go. We are ready for everything”.

Tottenham won an incredible game against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium tonight, when Mauricio Pochettino’s side bounced back from a disappointing first half with three late goals from Alli, Son and Eriksen to avoid an unexpected defeat.

Spurs completed a massive turnaround in the extra-time, while Swansea probably thought they had won the game after Routledge’s opener.

Tottenham remain 7 points behind Chelsea, but the gap could have been even bigger.
