Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was asked also on Michy Batshuayi, who failed to make an impact in the Premier League since joining the Blues from Olympique Marseille on a £33m move in 2016.

“We have to try in every moment to be honest with our players” Conte said.

“I don’t know if another striker arrives but in this case, I don’t want to send away one player but a lot of times it is the player who prefers to go away and have the possibility to play regularity.”

Conte added: “But then the player has to show that he deserves to play every game.”

The Belgian forward could reportedly be included as a part of the deal in Edin Dzeko’s move with AS Roma, with also FC Seville keeping tabs on him.

Edin Dzeko is set to leave AS Roma tomorrow, having travelled with the squad, as the Giallorossi face Sampdoria in Serie A tonight. The deal should be completed by Thursday.

The Bosnia-Erzegovina international is currently expected to be selected in the starting XI by manager Eusebio Di Francesco, who remained coy when asked whether Dzeko could leave the club earlier this week.

Here are pictures of Tower Airport in Genoa, where the former Man City striker is currently resting ahead of tonight’s game at Luigi Ferraris.

Edin Dzeko could feature in tomorrow’s clash against Sampdoria as the Bosnia-Erzegovina international has travelled with the squad ahead of the game in Genoa. Also manager Eusebio Di Francesco has confirmed Dzeko will be included in the provisional squad for the Serie A game despite he wanted to let him get on with things.”

With Emerson Palmieri on his way to Stamford Bridge, following the departure of Kenedy on loan to Newcastle United until the end of current season, the deal for Dzeko should be completed by Thursday.

Emerson has already set personal terms with Chelsea, after agreeing a four-year-deal with the Blues on a reported £20m move.

Today can be the day that Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko will finally move to Stamford Bridge after a negotiation lasted one week.

It is believed the two AS Roma players agreed personal terms with Chelsea yesterday and now they are ready to travel to London to undergo medicals and put pen on their new deals.

In these days the Giallorossi are staying in Milan after playing Inter on Sunday night and ready to travel to Genova tomorrow to play the game they still have in hand against Sampdoria, after it was cancelled last September due to bad weather. This is why, also, Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco wanted to wait for their transfer.

Rumours claims the Bosnian forward has already said goodbye to his team-mate and is heading to the airport in these minutes to travel to London.

The deal should be close for a fee in the region of £ 52m, £ 35m for Palmieri ( who was sidelined in the first part of the season since he was still recovering from an ACL injury) and the rest for the former Manchester City striker.

It’s just matter of time before their move to Chelsea will be official.

In this exclusive picture from Italian TV Mediaset Premium we can see Dzeko loading luggage to a car, ready to board on a flight to London.

Edin Dzeko could join Chelsea, alongside with Emerson Palmieri, on a combined fee of £44m plus add-ons, which is AS Roma’s current asking price for the Serie A duo.

With the Brazilian full-back reportedly keen on a Premier League move, and having already agreed personal terms with the Blues, the future of Dzeko remains coy despite exit rumors in Italy and England.

The Bosnia-Erzegovina striker is said to be closer to joining Chelsea, despite the Premier League champions are still pondering if meeting AS Roma asking price of £44m plus £8.8m in bonus payments for the pair.

Edin Dzeko is furious at AS Roma after the Italian club forced him to accept Chelsea move.

The former Manchester City striker recently bought a house in Rome with him and his wife expecting to spend a long time in Italy.

Chelsea interest in him was sudden surprised both Roma and the player but the speed in which the club agreed to sell the Bosnian goalscorer has angered him.

There is no suggestion Dzeko will reject a move to Chelsea and demand to remain at Roma, but the player has made his feelings known to the Italian club.

The Italian capital side are almost forced to sell players to fulfill FFP agreement with UEFA before the end of June, otherwise they could find themselves in trouble and even out of next European club competitions, should they qualify.

Reports from Italy say the current AS Roma forward has agreed to the switch to Stamford Bridge, but that the two clubs are still deciding on a transfer fee.

Dzeko will join Chelsea alongside his current Roma team-mate, full-back Emerson Palmieri, and the Serie A pair are expected to cost the Blues a combined £ 44m.

Antonio Conte will finally have the striker he asked for after Chelsea failed in several pursuits this month.

Chelsea are keen to land both striker Edin Dzeko and full-back Emerson Palmieri to Stamford Bridge, and look set to place a €50m bid, in which could be included also unsettled star Michy Batshuayi.

AS Roma reportedly want a fee in the region of €65m, anyway talks are still ongoing as Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is willing to bolster his squad before the Deadline Day.

Dzeko scored 50 goals in 130 appearances with Manchester City from 2011 to 2015.

Speaking to Calciomercato.com Emerson Palmieri‘s agent Fernando Garcia confirms Chelsea and As Roma are trying to reach a deal for the player’s move to Stamford Bridge in this January transfer window.

“There is still nothing certain, we are in the period of discussions and evaluations”. Garcia said. “Of course yes [Chelsea are interested], absolutely.
Now the two clubs are talking, we’ll see if they are successful.”

A major factor could also be the fact that Emerson Palmieri would love to play under Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte:  “Obviously yes, it would be a dream”. Garcia confirmed. “Conte is a top coach, one of the best and most successful coaches in the world.”

Chelsea are considering to place a January bid to sign left-wing Emerson Palmieri from AS Roma and made an enquiry to ponder a potential move for the Italian, according to SkySport in Italy.

It is understood the Italian international and Brazil-born defender struggled to get first-squad football with the Giallorossi this campaign, as he recovers from a knee ligament injury and former Man City star Aleksandr Kolarov impressed so far.

Marcos Alonso needs a back-up and Emerson Palmieri could represent a key player in Chelsea’s team.

Chelsea qualify to Champions League last 16 as second in their group, with AS Roma topping the table with the same points ( 11) thanks to the 3-0 win in Italy one month ago.

Despite playing a good game and creating many dangerous chances the Blues were not able to overcome the Spanish side, who relegate to Europa League after finish third in the Group A table.

Antonio Conte‘s team produced 15 shots in tonight clash, 8 of whom on target, but after missing chances with Alvaro Morata ( two times) and Davide Zappacosta ( once) they were able to equalise only thanks to an own goal by Savic, who deflected a shot by Eden Hazard, again the man of the match.

Atletico controlled the game in the first part but were never really dangerous, while Morata missed the target twice and Zappacosta had a nice attempt saved by Jan Oblak.

The Colchoneros seemed more determined in the second half and after hitting the post with former Blues left-back Filipe Luis ( Koke’s header on the rebound was blocked by Thibaut Courtois) took the lead at 52′ when Saul Niguez‘s header entered the goal after another former Blues, Fernando Torres, assisted him after a corner kicked from the left, with Tiemoué Bakayoko forgetting to man marking him.

The Diego Simeone‘s side dream to reach the qualification ( they were depending, anyway, on Roma’s score, who had not to win against Qarabag at home) ended when Savic deflected a shot from the left by Hazard in his own goal.

After that, Morata and Willian incredibly missed a couple of good chances to give Chelsea the three points needed to win the group.

The Last 16 draw will take place next Monday 11 December at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
