A return for the Brazilian born forward, who already played for five years in the Spanish side until 2014, when he signed for the Blues.

“The gaffer has got it spot on, but you can’t help feeling sorry for a guy who sees Alvaro Morata, who is his fellow striker, not fit, and you think here is my chance, I’m in, and all of a sudden he goes and plays the three amigos and they play as well as they did” – Langley said – “So he is even further down the pecking order. I thought when he came on against Atletico Madrid he made a difference. I think he is an impact player at the moment.”

Chelsea failed to gain the top spot in the Champions League group stage after drawing with Atletico Madrid tonight at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will now face one of the winners of the other groups, but Chelsea manager Antonio Conte doesn’t seem worried by this perspective.

“This is a fantastic competition, this is the best tournament. If you want to go through, if you want to try to be protagonists in this tournament, you must be ready to face the best teams. Our opponent won’t be happy to play against us.”

Conte, hovewer, believes Chelsea and other Premier League teams may have more difficulties in the final stages of the Champions League: “Don’t forget here this season is very tough” – Conte added -. “You have to play a lot of games, but when you arrive at the final stage to play for quarter-finals, semi-finals the English teams have a lot of games in their legs. For this reason I think it could be problematic to win.”

I think tonight it was a good game and a good performance,” – Conte said. – “I think we deserved to win the game because we had so many chances to score and you have to try to take them. Instead, their goalkeeper was I think their best player and in other circumstances could be more accurate. But at the same time, we conceded a goal and we have to improve because after a corner there were a lot of mistakes. When you play this type of game the defence is very important. We had the strength to draw and to try to win the game. We must be pleased because it was a really tough group.”
