According to Express, Barcelona midfielder Alex Song is closing in on a move to Chelsea. The Cameroon would be a perfect replacement for John Obi Mikel who wants to change the club. However the Blues will have to compete with West Ham to sign Blaugrana player.

Alex Song spent his last season on a loan at West Ham. During his performances at Upton Park he gained an attention from  Jose Mourinho who appears now  to be very keen on signing the midfielder. Song is considered as a potential replacement for departing John Obi Mikel. And would be a perfect fulfillment  of Mourinho’s words about the intention to sign a midfielder in the summer window.

According to the Independent, Chelsea is ready to offer £6m for the player. David Sullivan, West Ham coach also does not cease in its efforts to sign Song.

Sullivan:”I can assure you we have not given up on Alex Song yet”

However, the Hammers are willing to spend only  £5million to get player’s signature what gives Chelsea the advantage.

Alex Song joined Barcelona in 2012 from Arsenal. As he made only 39 appearances at Camp Nou, the club decided to sign a season-long loan deal with West Ham.

The issue of the transfer is still open as he was already linked with a come back at the Emirates or a loan deal with Liverpool. But according to the latest news, the suprising winner of the race may be Chelsea.

Joseph Bartomeu, the president of Barcelona FC has confirmed that the club from the capital of Catalonia is interested in signing Paul Pogba. In this way Blaugrana joins Chelsea in the battle for the young central midfielder. Suprisingly according to the odds, it’s Manchester City who is currently leading the race for the French player.

Joseph Bartomeu is aware of Paul Pogba big talent and would do all his best to bring the player on Camp Nou. However due to the transfer ban which ends in January, his desire is unlikely to come true.

Bartomeu :“It is true that Pogba is a leading target of ours and obviously we are interested, but I can’t say anything more. We are forbidden to recruit players until January, so I can’t talk about it.”

But it is still not certain whether Juventus will agree to sell the player. According to the words of Juve chief executive the Old Lady is not interested in entering into negotiations for the midfielder.

Giuseppe Marotta: “Juventus wants to win the Champions League next season and Pogba is an important player. He will be here next season for sure, 100 per cent.”

After yesterday’s very good performance in the Champions League final , Pogba’s rating has increased a lot. What might be a suprise, according to the latest odds Manchester City has the biggest chance to obtain the player. The second favourite is Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain on the third position.
