Chelsea manager José Mourinho © Francesca Ceciarini

José Mourinho spoke to BT Sport tv just after Chelsea victory against Arsenal:

I don’t want to think about the title race, I just want to think about the next game. Let’s see where we are at the end

To win a derby, you need emotional control. I always repeat the same before derbies.

Gabriel red card? I don’t have a view of the sending off. There’s no controversy. Man of the match, for sure, was Costa.

A fantastic performance from Diego Costa , he played the game it needed to be played. I’m very happy with him.

I think I’ve played vs Arsenal 15 or 16 times. Only once they didn’t moan. All the other matches they have reasons to moan.

Remy gave a huge contribution in the end of the game, he did was he had to do.

My hand-shake with Wenger? I try to shake hands with managers at home all the time, because I am Chelsea manager, I represent a big club. If the opposite manager is happy to do it, fine. If not, also fine.”

David Seaman urged Arsenal to sign Petr Cech as the Gunners’ first-choice goalkeeper this summer, as the Czech Republic international is expected to leave Chelsea in the summer.

Among others, Manchester United are thought to be keeping tabs on Cech’s situation at Stamford Bridge as David De Gea is continuously linked with a move away from Old Trafford to join Real Madrid. But Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring him – Wenger thinks Ospina and Szczesny are not at his level.

And now also an Arsenal legend such as David Seaman feels that Cech would walk in as the No1 between the posts at most Premier League clubs. He told Metro: “A lot of rumours that Petr Cech has become available but if De Gea leaves Manchester United then they will be in for him, he’ll be in high demand. Will Chelsea even let him leave to a rival?”

He added: “I think Cech in any squad will make them better, I don’t want to put a downer on Ospina or Szczesny, but Cech is a quality goalkeeper and I don’t think he’ll go to any club where he could be considered a No2. Wherever he goes he’s going to be a No1.”

According to FLW sources, Charlton Athletic are interested in signing former Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The England international only made 12 appearances for QPR in his last two years at Loftus Road, in the Championship and Premier League. He was then released at the end of the year after his club’s relegation to the second tier.

The 33-year-old was linked with a loan move to Charlton earlier on in the season but nothing came of it, but now the Addicks are willing to add him  to their squad for next year, in an effort to return to the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly trying to persuade Petr Cech to stay at Chelsea.

Cech is supposed to desire a move away from Chelsea after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and reports claimed a deal with London rivals Arsenal was done “at 99%”.

The 33-year old said he wasn’t sure where he would be come next season, and manager Mourinho has said that, should he have his way, Cech would stay at the club. Regardless,

“He’s a legend of this club but he’s a legend at 32 years old which is a very young legend for a goalkeeper,” Mourinho said.

“One of our strengths this season was to have the two best goalkeepers in the Premier League.”

He added: “I don’t know if we could be champions if he hadn’t played these seven matches. His contribution was decisive.”

According to some reports Chelsea are interested in Antonio Rudiger, a German footballer who plays as a centre back for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

The relatively young defender missed most of the current season due to an injury, but still managed to make a notable impression with 19 appearances collected in Bundesliga.

Some medium clubs such as West Ham and Monaco are interested in siging 22 year old footballer. And according to Stuttgarter Zeitung, Rudiger is keen to stop his stay at Stuttgart this summer.

Rudiger’s contract with Stuttgart expires in 2017, but it is understood that it contains a release clause worth about €10m.

As a consequence either West Ham or Chelsea could take advantage to sign Rudiger during this summer transfer window, in what seems another of the many voices surrounding Blues‘ transfer window.

Cuadrado when he joined Chelsea...only seven months ago!

Apparently Chelsea fans feel that January arrival Juan Cuadrado was the club’s worst player of the season.

However, the move has not worked out for the Colombian 27-year-old: Cuadrado made 14 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side, but just four were starts.

His poor form has therefore made voices arise about the possibility the Blues boss could axe the £26m signing after merely six months.

According to a poll of Chelsea supporters, they would be happy to see Mourinho doing that. In a survey about who was the worst player this season, 49 per cent of the Blues‘ fans voted for Cuadrado.

The fellow-new signing Filipe Luis was next up on 22 per cent, with Oscar third on 19 per cent.

On the other hand, Eden Hazard was overwhelming voted Player of the Season, with Cesc Fabregas voted as the best signing of the season.

Gary Cahill adamantly admitted he never thought to be realistic to win every trophy this year.
Perhaps a bit nostalgic, Cahill said that although he hoped it would be possible, it wasn’t something he was imagining.”I never imagined it but I dreamt about it and hoped it would be possible. I don’t think you sit there as a young boy thinking you want a full set of medals, you just want to achieve something,” he said.

“In football you go from hurdle to hurdle, there’s always something to motivate you, always something you want to get. I’ve been here three-and-a-half years and to do it so quickly is amazing.”

Although John Terry is delighted to be finally be celebrating their success, headmitted today that Chelsea’s title party is sad due to Didier Drogba’s second departure.

The veteran Ivorian announced before the 3-1 win over Sunderland that he is going to leave the Blues when his contract expires in the summer.

The captain said: “It has been five years since we won the title. It has been a long time and hurts when you see other teams lift it.”

“It is an unbelievable day – the whole squad have been top class from day one – but a sad one with Didier leaving today.”

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claims that new players will join in the summer to add healthy competition to his squad.

Although the Blues ended their Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-1 win against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge, he expects the rivals to spend a lot during the summer transfer window to bridge the gap with Chelsea.

I know that our rivals are not going to accept this title and they are going to fight,” Mourinho told to BBC.

There are three or four teams that will be aiming for us and we have to be better – me, the players and our squad. Maybe they need some fresh blood to keep them under pressure.”

They know me, they know that they are not going to keep their positions on the basis of this year.”

Didier Drogba made his final appearance for Chelsea today, having previously declared he is leaving the Blues for the second – and final – time in his career.

The striker began the match in the starting XI but he was substituted in the first half after he suffered an “injury”. Drogba was then emotionally carried off the pitch by his team-mates.

Initially it was feared that the player had injured himself, but it now seems that the club had been planning the substitution in this particular way.

The 37-year-old has made 27 appearances in the league this season and has played the full-game on just five occasions. He has made 20 appearances as a substitute and found the back of the net on four occasions.

Told that Didier Drogba’s special substitution was planned – he wasn’t injured,” stated the journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke on twitter.
