Good news for Chelsea players who are with their national teams during this international break.

Blues’ winger Willian replaced Douglas Costa early in the second half in Brazil‘s win 5-0 vs El Salvador. Willian himself almost scored few minutes after coming on the pitch.

Chelsea’s defender Cesar Azpilicueta played the last 15 minutes in Spain‘s large win (6-0) over Croatia in the Nations League. Chelsea and Croatian midfielder Kovacic played the whole game while Marcos Alonso and striker Alvaro Morata sit on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

Brazialian winger Willian started in Maurizio Sarri‘s first Premier League game as Chelsea boss on Saturday vs Huddersfield Town.

Willian himself admitted the appointment of the former SS Napoli manager was crucial in his choice to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Would I be here if Conte stayed? No chance. No.” Willian said. “I’m here. I’m here because I want to play for Chelsea. I will only leave if Chelsea want me to go.”

Then the Brazilian spoke also about Maurizio Sarri: “He wants to build from the back. This is what we will try to do this season”. Willian went on. “This is what we do in Brazil and are trying to do here, playing with skill and movement and the manager told us to do that.”

Chelsea defender David Luiz was brilliant in Blues’ first pre-season friendly game against Perth Glory at Optus Stadium today.

When asked about if Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Willian will stay at Stamford Bridge next season, he said: “I think the press sell and buy players every single year, they buy and sign players [he laughs]. I really hope they can stay, because they are fantastic, great talents and we need the best players in Chelsea”.

When asked if he’s in touch with compatriot Willian, who’s still on holiday with his family, David Luiz added: “Yes, I heard him almost every day. He loves playing for Chelsea. Will he stay? I won’t let him go. I think he’s going to stay. Seriously, i’m not joking. Chelsea have to keep their best players”.

Belgium booked a place into the World Cup semi-finals after beating Brazil in Kazan Arena tonight. An own-goal from Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne’s stunning strike gave a double lead after 30 minutes.

Substitute Renato Augusto scored with a header with 15 minutes left to go. Chelsea’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois denied a certain goal with a world class one-handed save on Neymar in the extra-time.

Eden Hazard went close to scoring in the second half, well assisted by former Blues’ Kevin De Bruyne.

Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Willian was replaced with Roberto Firmino following a poor performance in the first half. Brazil are out of the World Cup, while Belgium will face N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud in the semi-final which takes place on Tuesday night.

Barcelona and Manchester United are keen to sign Willian from Chelsea, who reportedly rejected a second £55m bid for the Brazilian star from La Liga giants.

Willian, speaking at a press conference ahead of next World Cup clash against Belgium, told journalists: “People speculate a lot and we see a lot of things on the Internet but this is not the time to talk about this,”

“I’ve not received any information about whether is true or not [Barcelona’s interest]. I’m trying to focus on the national team at the moment.”

Alisson Becker‘s agent Ze Maria has refused to confirm Chelsea have already set personal terms with the current AS Roma goalkeeper on a £100,000-a-week contract.

He told TeleRadio Stereo: “Nothing will happen in the next few days. Alisson is 100 per cent focused on the World Cup.”

Brazil face Belgium tomorrow (7PM BST) in Kazan. Chelsea stars Willian, Thibaut Courtois, and Eden Hazard are expected to start the game.

After yesterday’s great performance with BrazilChelsea winger Willian is again a target for many European top club.

According to Sky Sports, Spanish giants Barcelona have offered more than £50m to sign the Brazilian star, but Chelsea have rejected their second offer.

It has been reported the Spanish giants had already a £50m bid rejected earlier last week.

However, talks are still ongoing between the two clubs as it is also understood Willian wants to leave Stamford Bridge if Antonio Conte remains the Blues’ manager.

Belgium bounced back with a massive comeback as they beat Japan after being two goals behind last night in Russia.

Goals from Jan Vertonghen, Marouane Fellaini and Nacer Chadli completed an amazing turnaround for the Red Devils. 

Thibaut Courtois started in goal while Eden Hazard hit the post and served a superb assist for the Manchester United midfielder, who leveled the score just before Chadli’s late goal which secured a 3-2 win.

Belgium face Brazil in the Quarter-Finals of the World Cup, it means a Chelsea quartet could be starting the game: Willian, Courtois, Hazard and Batshuayi.

Willian is expected to be selected in the starting XI after Juventus star Douglas Costa suffered a thigh injury and he could miss the rest of the World Cup.

Chelsea winger Willian started and played the whole game but he didn’t really make an impact on the game.

Goals were scored by ex Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, with an amazing shot in the middle of the first half, and by Steven Zuber, who equalised with a header on a corner in the beginning of the second part.

So now Brazil and Switzerland are leveled with 1 point in Group F, where Sweden and South Korea will debut tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
