Chelsea sealed a crucial win at Stamford Bridge against Man City and get back to winning after two away defeats (against Tottenham Hotspurs and Wolves, last time out).

The Blues deserves an extra credit as they scored with their first attack in a tough first half.

Goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz are enough and mean that Chelsea are still in the race for the Premier League title after getting 34 points from 16 games so far.

Maurizio Sarri, who marked his first ever win against Pep Guardiola, held the Citizens to their first defeat in the league. For the visitors, David Silva limped off with a hamstring injury

Liverpool are now leaders of the Premier League table with 42 points, one ahead of City and 8 ahead of Chelsea.

Chelsea have confirmed their interest to bring QPR’s Charlie Austin to the bridge.

The blues are currently weighing up a bid to bring the 25 years old to Stamford Bridge despite interest of Higuain and Falcao.

Jose Mourinho insisted he wants to bring a striker next season to defend their title in the league, and Charlie Austin seems to be the perfect target for the Portuguese manager.

Charlie Austin enjoyed a stunning season despite his team being relegated to the Championship. He scored a total of 18 goals, making him the second highest scorer behind Harry Kane.

Following the departure of Drogba next season, they believe Austin could be the perfect back up of Diego Costa.

Christian Benteke, who plays at Aston Villa is looking for a move and is decided to snub Liverpool despite interested from the Reds, as the Belgium seeks to join any team involved in Champions League.

Chelsea are actually looking for a striker for their title defence next season, and yet the fact that Benteke wants to join a team playing in Champions League would highly benefit Chelsea. Despite bein on International duty, Benteke told his agent about his ambitions, he said:

“My agent knows my ambition. I want to play in the Champions League. That’s a dream and my ambition. It’s about my agent. He knows what I want and I’ll let him do the job. I don’t think about Aston Villa now.

“I did my season with Villa and now I am focused with the national team.”

Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain could be a Stamford Bridge bound

The Argentinian, it is believed, wants to leave Italy. Arsenal and Juventus have been long admirers of the striker but he could head instead to West London

Jose Mourinho is prepared to stump up 30M for Higuain, whom he managed three seasons at Real Madrid, so should the opportunity come, the Argentinian could team up with his former manager.

There has been speculation in the past few weeks that the Frenchman Antoine Griezmann would be joining the Blues

However Jose Mourinho was quick to stop the rumours spreading around and said:

“He is not one that interests us at this point in time. He is a great striker but is not within our objectives to strengthen the squad for next season. We’re not interested.”

Chelsea host Crystal Palace and just need three points to be crowned champions despite having three games left to play. Meanwhile Crystal Palace are nine points ahead of 18th placed Sunderland so they’re in no danger of being relegated to the Championship probably thanks to the great work done by Alan Pardew since he took over at the club..

How did the first half go so far?

Chelsea have been the team who have had the most possession of the ball especially in the opening moments but it took a good twenty minutes before the Eagles put the host on a great pressure

The Eagles have had a good amount of chances and Zaha has caused some trouble to the Chelsea defence everytime he got forward down the left flank so Chelsea aren’t out of danger and need to close down the gap especially with Ivanovic.

But the goal came two minutes before heading back to the dressing room and the best player of the league was at it again. Willian and Hazard play a one-two before Hazard runs into the box before being tripped over by McArthur

Hazard stepped in with composure but scuffed the penalty easily saved by Speroni but the goalkeeper could do nothing else except push the ball back to the Belgian who nodded the ball into the net

Chelsea have only lost two games this season and know how to get the job done so you would expect them to keep the lead and win the game despite their frustrating first half.

The Blues are 45 minutes away from being Champions so let’s see what happens in the second half

According to the West Ham manager, Chelsea should win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and be crowned Champions because they fully deserve it

Allardyce hit out at comments made by Arsenal fans describing Chelsea fans as boring and called it a disgrace especially coming from teams weaker than Chelsea. He said:

“As far as I am concerned, as a Premier League manager, it is a disgrace to call a team like Chelsea boring. They have played some of the best football in the League this season and, just as importantly, they know because of their manager what they have to do to win a trophy or a title.”

Allardyce laughed off at comments such as the ones from Arsenal fans and added:

“Chelsea is clearly best team in the Premier League by a country mile. They’re 13 points clear for goodness sake and there should be nothing but praise for what they have achieved this season in the most difficult league in the world. “

Yannick Bolasie who is a Crystal Palace striker spoke ahead of the crucial game on Sunday and said the Eagles will be looking for an upset

He admitted he wouldn’t want to see Jose Mourinho’s side to celebrate in front of his fans but insisted his team knows how to deal with big teams. He said:

“Obviously the last two games haven’t gone our way, but we know as a bunch of lads we should be doing better.

“It’s about finding that balance. We were unlucky against West Brom, then against Hull we started well but allowed them back into it.

“Of course you don’t want to see Chelsea celebrate. Credit to Chelsea, they are a good team and have done extraordinary this season, so them winning the league would be deserved.

“You don’t want them to win against us, though. It will probably be a crazy scene there if they win it but at the same time it’s some sort of inspiration for us at Palace.

Yannick Bolasie has a lot of friends who support the Blues but he is an Eagles and added:

“I have a lot of friends who support Chelsea but I’ll be looking for an upset”
