Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a serious injury during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Burnley tonight, according to what Blues assistant boss Gianfranco Zola said after the final whistle.

Hudson-Odoi limped off five minutes before half-time at Stamford Bridge and N’Golo Kante was substituted at the interval after also picking up an injury.

Kante’s injury does not appear to be serious but there is concern for the teenager player.

“Kante shouldn’t be too bad but Hudson looks a serious thing. It’s a problem with his Achilles tendon,” Zola told Sky Sports.

More exams in the upcoming days will reveal the real extent of the injury.

According to reports by Sky SportsChelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has made a decision on the immediate future of Callum Hudson-Odoi: the Italian doesn’t think the player is ready to play regularly with the Blues, so Sarri himself has given the “go-ahead” for a loan move in the January transfer window.

Willian scored his third goal of the season in Chelsea‘s win at Turf Moor vs Burnley.

The Brazilian winger believes he and his teammates played one of their best games so far in their Premier League campaign.

I think we enjoyed the game and we played very well,” Willian told Chelsea’s official website. “From the beginning they started very well. In the first 10 minutes we coped with the pressure and we were in control. Then we had the ball, we tried to just play, move the ball and have possession. I think we played a great game.”

Willian also claims that the fact a lot of players are performing well and can compete for a place in the Starting XI is one of Chelsea’s secrets: “For sure it’s good for us,” he added, “We have players who are all playing very well and it’s good to have players performing like that.”

“For the family, for the club, for the players.”

Chelsea earned their fourth away victory in the Premier League season from five games so far. Except for the goalless draw at West Ham, Maurizio Sarri‘s men were capable of scoring 12 goals, conceding just one against Newcastle United.

Alvaro Morata was among the goalscorers following his late goal against Southampton in Chelsea’s latest away clash, as well as regenerated Ross Barkley. An unstoppable Ruben Loftus-Cheek cleared the way, leading to the 0-4 victory at Turf Moor having scored a hat-trick in the Europa League game against BATE Borisov on Thursday.

Chelsea are currently enjoying a 2nd place on the Premier League table, despite Man City still have one game in hand.

Despite a clear-cut win at Turf Moor Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri claims he still misses Eden Hazard, that today couldn’t play because of a fitness issue:

“I want Hazard in every match if it’s possible because we have a lot of very good players but Hazard I think is something different,” the Italian coach said.

“I am very happy because the team was able to score seven goals in two matches without Hazard. It’s a very good sign. I want Eden as soon as possible. I don’t know for Wednesday but I hope for Sunday.”

Ross Barkley in particular has stood out in recent games and, after earning a point against Manchester United last weekend, the England midfielder played a superb pass for Alvaro Morata’s goal before sending a 25-yard effort fizzing into the bottom corner.

“Barkley is doing very well in this period. He improved in the defensive phase, improved very much,” Sarri said.

“He improved his physical condition because the last season for him was really very difficult. He’s a very good player from the technical point of view. Now I think Ross is complete.”

Alvaro Morata also laughed and cheered, opening the match at 22′ with a beautiful action. The Spaniard without ever losing sight of the ball, follows the companion until it breaks into the opposing defense and waits for the cross from Barkley before anticipating and beating Hart

The double was signed by Barkley at 57′ with a shot from outside the area with Kante’ complicity. TEAM NEWS

Chelsea

– Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will  face a decision over whether or not he starts Eden Hazard at Turf Moor today.

The Belgian international didn’t train with his teammates at Cobham on Friday after picking up a back injury in the draw against Manchester United last weekend.  Stating he was unsure if he would be fit for the trip at Burnely, Sarri may elect to not risk the 27-year-old with Pedro now back to full fitness.

However, he can bring Hazard on the bench so he can bring him on if the Blues need a goal providing he is fit.

Willian will start his ninth match on the trot for the Blues after impressing in midweek, with Alvaro Morata replacing Olivier Giroud upfront after another frustrating 90 minutes for the Frenchman.

–  Ruben Loftus-Cheek bagged a hat-trick on Thursday night but is not expected to start for the Blues.
