Chelsea forward Diego Costa has praised former Blues’ striker Romelu Lukaku as the Belgian star is considered the main replacement should the Spaniard leave Stamford Bridge at the end of current season.

When asked about Lukaku’s signing, Diego Costa said: “I do not know – that’s a decision for the club. Of course Lukaku is a very big player who played an impressive season. I hope he can sign at Chelsea because it’s a unique club.”

And about Chelsea star Michy Batshuayi, he added: “He is a big player and has an impressive future for himself. The past matches have proven that he has quality and scoring ability”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that Premier League giants will be adamant they can lift the trophy and for this reason “next season will be another tough season for all the teams”, the Italian manager said.

“Don’t forget this season we haven’t had a squad like United’s or City’s or Tottenham’s or Arsenal’s. – Conte added – This season we won the league and we start next season as champions”.

Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses will miss out the first game of new Premier League campaign as a result of the red card at Wembley against Arsenal.

“There is a lot of tension in these moments and sometimes you could be tired. – Antonio Conte said about the Nigerian star – I don’t think if my player dived he did it with a real intention of doing it. We have arrived at the end of the season and many players are tired, and then there is a lot of pressure”.

Moses was sent of by the referee following an alleged dive in the penalty area with 20 minutes left to go.

“It’s not a good situation to dive, for sure, – Conte reckons – but Moses is an honest player and if he did this it’s only because he was tired. He didn’t want to cheat the referee”.

Thibaut Courtois is happy in London, but to stay at Stamford Bridge also next season he would like Chelsea will offer him a new contract.

“Contract talks haven’t opened but I am happy at Chelsea,” – Courtois said. – “I hope they reward me with a good contract. Then there will be no doubt I will sign it.”

Real Madrid have been linked to Courtois as the Spanish champions are looking for a new goalkeeper for next season.

Eden Hazard was voted as Chelsea player of the year after scoring 16 goals in an outstanding season at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian star collects the award for a third time since he joined the Blues in 2012.

N’Golo Kante, who was the choice of his team-mates for 2016/17, told Chelsea’s official website: “Because we spend so long together, and we win together and we lose together, to be named by the other players is something special, I spent a very good season here”.

“We were unlucky we did not win yesterday but it was a good season and hopefully next season we are going to be stronger”.

Karen Carney won Chelsea Ladies Player of the Year award, while Under-18s side captain Mason Mount, who led the team to their fourth FA Youth Cup in a row this season, lifted the trophy last night.

Chelsea legend John Terry has just left the Blues but he warns the club: to be competitive in the Premier League and the Champions League next season, Chelsea need to improve their team and to do it very fast.

“I think we can push on,” – John Terry told the Press Association. “Listen, clearly we have to keep improving year after year. I’ve seen that as well, you can’t stand still in the transfer market. Man City have already made one big signing, we need to act fast and I am sure the club will. And that’s not a message, that’s just everyone – everyone needs to keep raising the bar. I am sure we’ll do the same, the manager stressed that himself as well”.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas speaking after the defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final has confirmed he wants to fight for the Blues.

“With the minutes I’ve played, I don’t think I could have done much more this season, I’m proud of what I’ve done”.

“At the end of the day it’s the coach’s decision and you have to respect that. He wants the best for his team and if he thinks that’s the way to go, we have to go with it all together because we are a team. Going forward, I’m here for whatever the team needs, I’ve shown that during this season and I will keep doing that”.

Then Fabregas added: “I have nothing against Antonio because he’s done a great job. I have a very good relationship with him. He’s been very honest with me, and I have with him”.

“I understand his idea of football very well and I like it a lot, but of course every player wants to play more. That’s in the genes of a winner, I’m one of them and I will never put my head or hands down, I want to fight”.

The Belgian striker suddenly became a Chelsea hero after scoring the goal that brought the Premier League title back to Stamford Bridge against West Brom, but now he is open to a loan move for next campaign:

“Honestly, I’m not trying to think too much [about my future],” Batshuayi explained after Chelsea lost the FA Cup final.

“Now it will up to the board and the coach to make a decision.”

Cesc Fabregas doesn’t dismiss any speculation on his future, instead, he puts fuel on fire and claims he is not sure to stay at Stamford Bridge for the next season.
