David Luiz already achieved many successes with Benfica, Chelsea and PSG, and knows what is the way to get there.

The Brazilian defender spoke after the fantastic win against Everton and suggested what is the right path toward more success:

“We played a great game against a strong team, it’s good to win by scoring many goals and not conceding but it’s just the beginning.

“We just want to go match by match, we don’t want to speak about the future. It’s important to keep our feet on the ground and have humility, that’s the key.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte revealed what are his plans for this international break: first of all, some deserved rest after spending so much energy for the last team fantastic run:

“It’s important for me to have a bit of rest [in Italy] because my first period at Chelsea was very intensive and it’s important to have a bit of rest and then to be ready to restart.

“The Everton game is now the past. It’s important to think and be concentrated, and to restart in the right way after the international break.”

David Luiz came back to Chelsea a couple of months ago after two seasons spent at Paris Saint-Germain, but the Brazilian don’t forget the friendship and the bond with the club and his former team-mates, that’s why he paid a visit to them at Parc des Princes last night, where PSG won 4-0 over Rennes in a Ligue 1 game.

Here are a couple of pictures David Luiz and PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi posted on social media:

Chelsea star Eden Hazard got really clear in mind what are his next targets: the Belgian attacking midfielder is back to play to top levels and aims to become one of the best players in the world:

“Last season I was not good, so for me it was normal that I was not on the Ballon d’Or list ” the Blues player said.

“But I want to come back on the list, and give everything to be on the list, not to be in the top 23 but to be in the top five.”

Hazard’s performances were really poor last season but he has been reinvigorated by Antonio Conte‘s switch to 3-4-3 tactical system, that gives him more freedom:

“Now I am trying to play like when I was a kid.

“I am enjoying playing now, my position is a bit different from before, I go inside more. It gives me more freedom, and I’m good for the moment.

“Conte has not changed a lot, it is just that I have a little bit more freedom when we have the ball and without the ball.”

Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has revealed his interest in joining Chelsea, should Antonio Conte decide to place a bid for the 27-year-old in January.

The former Stoke City star told l’Equipe: “It’s nice, it’s good [to be linked with a move to Chelsea] but I always say that this type of club is interested in other players too”.

“I am not the only one, I know that big clubs are interested in many players – N’Zonzi added – but now I’m focusing on what I do at Sevilla. Until there is something concrete, we must remain professional”.

“Some clubs were interested [in the close-season] but I feel good at Sevilla.

Then the Frenchman ended: “I enjoy the game, the football, I like the way Sevilla play, I feel good in the city, with the fans and the club and I’m enjoying myself.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte told the club’s official website that his side ‘can always improve’ following the 5 wins in a row.

“I know we played a fantastic game and I’m pleased for my players – the Italian manager added – When you have this type of game you can continue to work very hard and show what we work on in the training session.”

“It’s important to continue to work. For us, it was very important to win and win in this way, playing very well”.

“Now it is important to look at ourselves, not at the others and think we can do this or this – Conte added – It’s important to improve and to work together. Then we can see in the future what happens.”

When asked about what is going to do during the international break, he ended: “It’s important for me to have a bit of rest in Italy because my first period at Chelsea was very intensive and I need to have a bit of rest and then to be ready to restart,”

“The Everton game is now the past. It’s important to think and be concentrated, and to restart in the right way after the international break.”

Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot told the club’s official website that he has been impressed with his old Wigan team-mate Victor Moses.

“Roberto Martinez was very impressed by his talent at Wigan and we once talked about how we couldn’t believe no big club could see it, – Melchiot wrote on his blog – He sometimes had to learn to be more focused, not just in the games but in training. He was only 20 years old back then, and I think that’s something every young star has to deal with when they break through”.

“It didn’t take long before Chelsea saw Victor’s qualities and snapped him up. Then there was a long loan out process at a number of clubs until Antonio Conte came and changed the system”.

“He put Victor in a role where he had way more responsibility than he was used to. In the United game I saw Victor in his own box more than I’ve ever seen him in a game; back-tracking and winning balls and headers like he was a defender.”

Moses is currently playing as right wing-back under Antonio Conte and Melchiot believes ‘it is a fun position to cover’.

“It asks for a lot of fitness, but also intelligence because you need to be on time, helping out the defence, but when the team goes forward you need to be there to give them the outside option and even take people on to deliver a cross into the box,”

“It’s a fun position to play because you always get the ball and are super active. But you always need to keep your focus and remember you can’t slip up, or you’ll pay for it”.

Then he ended: “Moses has managed to adjust and handle his new role well and I hope he can keep this great form going.”

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic believes that the reason why he provided so many assists this season is the superb finishing qualities of his teammates.

“I don’t think I am playing more offensively, – Matic said – In some moments of the game I can try to go forward if I see that behind me everything is covered, and maybe this has been happening more”.

“I have some assists, but this is a game where you can only get an assist if your team-mate scores and to be honest I am just lucky, as it is my team-mates who have been scoring a lot of goals”.

Chelsea got 5 wins in a row without conceding any goal since Antonio Conte switched the system to a 3-4-3 formation.

“The coach changed the system, we played three at the back, but I think more than tactics it is how you work on the pitch, – Matic revealed – When you give your best, you are concentrating and you know what the coach wants from you, it is easier to understand and do the things he wants”.

“My job is more or less the same in the new system, but when I have the ball I think there are more options to play. I wouldn’t like to say it is easier because every game is hard, but I feel better.”
