Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri believes latest signing Mateo Kovacic could make an impact at Stamford Bridge while Kepa Arrizabalaga, who made his Premier League debut today, “is young and very talented goalkeeper”. The Italian manager also hailed “very good player” Jorginho. The Brazilian born midfielder converted into a goal the penalty which ensured a 0-2 advantage for the Blues at halftime.

About Chelsea signings in the summer transfer window, Sarri told Sky Sports in Italy: “I have to say that the board has been really willing, helpful. We have lost a great goalkeeper, but was fair not to keep him here against his will. We lost him [Thibaut Courtois] on his own free will and we brought in a very young and great player like Kepa.

Then [Mateo] Kovacic could blow-up [enlarge his potential conclusively], Jorginho is here as well. Chelsea squad was good already”.

Maurizio Sarri was full of praise in giving his thoughts after Chelsea‘s away win over Huddersfield Town this evening.

The Italian manager, who also won his first Premier League game of career today, told journalists: “I’m very happy because in the first part of the season for us it won’t be easy for us to gain points. The first half was hard. If you look at the result you think it was an easy game but in the first half we were in trouble for 15 minutes against a physical team, we are not a physical team. In the second half the opponent was a bit tired and it was easier”.

“We have to improve to defend in the other half, to press, especially against three defenders. We have to move the ball faster. In the first half we didn’t, it was better in the second but we had more space and time”.

“It was really hard for us because they played all their pre-season matches with a 4 2 3 1, only one match in a 4 3 3. We have never played against 3 5 1 1 and we weren’t ready. It was a problem. Maybe for Napoli last year it wasn’t a problem but for Chelsea, with only three days training together, it’s clear it was a problem”.

Sarri added: “I think Eden [Hazard] at this moment cannot play for 90 minutes. He has to improve and train. The best thing for him to do is play 15-20 minutes when the opponents are tired. We are lucky now because for three or four weeks we can work with one match a week, so we have to improve in this month, then it will be difficult, with three matches in a week, but I hope to improve the team”.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs earned their first wins of 2018/19 Premier League campaign as they beat respectively Leicester City and Newcastle United.

Dele Alli‘s header secured an away win for the Spurs against former Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez, whose team found an early equalizer with Spanish striker Joselu.

José Mourinho, who was facing Harry Maguire after missing out on signing the England international defender,   saw his side beak the deadlock with Paul Pogba and then Luke Shaw. A late striker from Jamie Vardy was not enough for the Foxes.

An official statement from the La Liga side read: “Valencia CF and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement this Friday for the loan of Michi Batsuayi until the end of the season”.

The Belgian star failed to make a single appearance under Maurizio Sarri’s management as he returned from holidays just a few days ago following the World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Batshuayi spent last mid-season on loan at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Everton have confirmed the signing of talented attacking-midfielder Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk on Deadline Day.

The Brazilian star had been recently linked also with a move to Chelsea, before joining the Toffees a few minutes before the transfer market window was closed.

Bernard told Everton’s official website: “I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me. The manager made me feel confident about playing here. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs”.

“Everton is a club with a great structure and a lot of tradition, historically the fourth most successful club in England. When I found out about this opportunity and what the manager wanted out of me I was happy. That is why I made my choice, because of the confidence both the manager and the Club showed in me. I did not need any convincing to come here. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here.”

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been unveiled as Chelsea‘s new goalkeeper earlier this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Will he be wearing the N°1 shirt? The 23-year-old, speaking at a press conference, told journalists: “First of all, hello. I am incredibly happy to be here It is a great challenge for me and a great step forward for my career. It is brave for the club to take me on. I don’t think about the price, just be myself and do the best I can for the club”.

“I came back from holiday on the 23rd and a few days into training I new the interest. There had been prior offers from Chelsea, but Athletic Bilbao don’t usually care about the interest. But I had known about the interest for a while”

“I think some players take more time, others less. Everyone is different. I hope I can adjust as soon as possible. The game is different, but I know other Spanish players in the Premier League and they have given me fantastic references about playing here”.

“This is an experience and all experiences all make you better. It is a great step forward for me and in my personal life. I knew some of the players of Chelsea because I have played with them in Spain and at the World Cup in Russia. They all told me what it is like and I have had excellent references from them. They encouraged me to make the move”.

“I don’t think there will be additional pressure, just the one I put on myself. I demand a lot from myself. I don’t really think about it, Chelsea have made a great bet on taking me in and I am really happy to be here. I will do everything to pay the trust they have put in me”.

“I think I will be able to adapt to Maurizio Sarri‘s style of football. His style and ideas are attractive to me, and I had references from Pepe Reina who said great things about him. It won’t be too difficult, I expect to achieve a great growth, personally and collective and hope to win many titles and when I look back if I can be proud”.

“When I signed a new contract with Athletic I was not scared about the clause, of course I was thinking about the contract. I agreed with it and I started to become popular and there was talk about me, which made me very proud. In January I was coming to the end of the contract. There were negotiations [with Real Madrid] but I thought at the time I was happy to stay. Now is a new stage for me and I am really happy for that”.

“I would say the market in general has grown up in price a lot in the last few years. It has to do with many things. I agree this is the way to value the goalkeepers. It is great to see fees for strikers, but why not also for goalkeepers?”

“The Golden Glove will be nothing more of the result from the season we will play. We have an exciting one, not only for me and we will go step by step”.
