falcao goal chelsea

Chelsea on loan striker Rademal Falcao has opened up on his torrid time at Manchester United.

The Colombian spoke to El Tiempo “It was complicated in Manchester. Everyone saw how there were situations which created instability, since I played on some days, not on others.”

“It was 60 minutes today, then 45, then 20 – that generates instability and sometimes you don’t know where you stand or what the footballing preferences of the coach are.

“It’s been difficult. I had been used to playing regularly. After the knee surgery [at Monaco] I went to Manchester United, who were starting a new process after 25 years with the same coach, with a lot of new players and I did not have the opportunity I expected.”

Falcao scored just four goals for Manchester United last season. While this season he has scored only one goal for Chelsea. He’s been out injured since October.

“I this moment we are totally focused on EURO 2016, where we will try to get our chances with hard work and sacrifice. People who know me are aware my commitment will be total.”

Former England and Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello has a warning for Antonio Conte, who is widely expected to take over at Chelsea after Euro 2016.

Capello told Fox Sports “Chelsea is a club that doesn’t protect you like Juventus do, if Abramovich will buy you five or six players you can’t finish in fifth place.”

If as it’s expected, Conte comes in, he will receive backing from the Chelsea board. But  Blues owner Roman Abramovich is known for having very little patience and will expect success from the off.

News has broken this morning that Italy boss Antonio Conte will leave his role after Euro 2016.

The former Juventus boss has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and although this is still unconfirmed, this is a big step towards Conte joining the Blues.

Italian FA president Carlo Tavecchio has confirmed Conte will go once his contract expires after Euro 2016 “He misses the training pitch and working with players every day. That’s understandable.”

Conte, 46, is expected to sign a three-year deal at Stamford Bridge. He’s previously won three Serie A titles in a row for his former club Juventus before taking over the Italian national team.

The FA has charged Diego Costa with misconduct after the Chelsea striker was sent off last Saturday in the FA Cup clash at Goodison Park.

Costa, who has until Thursday to respond to the charge, was sent off after an angry reaction to a tackle from Everton’s Gareth Barry just after Lukaku’s second goal, in the end of the game.

Replays appeared to show the Blues forward opening his mouth towards Barry’s neck while the pair were tangled together, but Barry later said he was not bitten.

“It is alleged his behaviour, after being shown a second yellow card in the game, amounted to improper conduct,” the FA statement read.

The FA also stated that Costa has until Wednesday to explain a gesture directed to Everton fans at half-time.

Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao was interviewed by Spanish paper El Tiempo.

The Colombian forward confirmerd he could leave the Blues last January:

“It’s true, I got two offers from China, but I chose to stay here to get my chances.

“It would have been easier for me to accept one of these proposals, since they were very financially attractive, but I preferred to stay at Chelsea to fight.

“I don’t know what can happen in the next weeks, but I think only about my team at the moment.”

Falcao has been injured since last November: he had a setback on his previous calf injury in January but he is set to be back soon.

Until now he just collected 9 appearances and 1 goal in the whole season.

Chelsea are set to recall Andreas Christensen back from German club Borussia Monchengladbach only 1-year into his 2-year loan deal.

The plans Chelsea have to end the agreement early will come as a massive blow to Monchengladbach as the German side were hoping to keep the defender on a more permanent basis after a talk with Chelsea over the potential transfer.

Christensen has had some great performances in his 31 games for Monchengladbach and this has sparked the interest from Chelsea to recall the player and make him part of their first team plans next season.

Chelsea have been speculated with interest in Sunderland flop Emanuele Giaccherini.

Giaccherini is currently on loan with Italian club Bologna for the rest of the season after failing to impress at the Stadium of Light. The Italian international is performing better in Italy, scoring 6 goals in just 17 appearances.

It is likely that Antonio Conte, the current manager of the Italian national side, would be interested in the signing of the 30-year-old if he was to make to the managerial move to Stamford Bridge.

Giaccherini would play a similar role to Eden Hazard if the Blues were able to lure the player to England from his native country Italy, leaving speculation open to Hazards future at the London club.
