Speaking ahead of WBA game at Premier League restart after the international break Antonio Conte immediately gave an injury update:

Bathsuayi has a problem in his ankle, Musonda has a problem in his knee, Moses will be back next week.”

Asked if David Luiz is in this game squad after being left out in the clash against Manchester United, the Italian boss replied:

“Yes, he is in the squad, it was my decision to leave him out a couple of weeks ago,” Conte revealed.

He added: “I think the most important thing is to prepare the next game and to pay great attention, not to speak about a single player.”

Chelsea won the title at The Hawthorns last May, so to go back there must be a special feeling for Conte and his guys:

“It was a fantastic moment for me, for the players, for the club, for the fans.

“We won the league and it was great, I remember that moment very well and I am proud for what we did last season.

“Now we have to look at the present and this will be a really tough game because also last year WBA played a great game, two great games, because they were strong at Stamford Bridge as well. We want to try to continue to win.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham are doing very well while on loan at Crystal Palace and Swansea, Conte was asked if it was the right decision to send them on loan instead of including them in this season first team squad:

“I think we are talking about two young players, they will be the future of Chelsea, it’s right for them to play regularly. I read RLC’s interview: this experience is important for him, for his development, for his maturity. It’s the same path that Christensen followed when he was loaned two seasons at Borussia Monchengladbach.”

About Danny Drinkwater‘s fitness he said:

“Against Manchester United he suffered a knock in his calf, he started to work with us only this week, he was intelligent to stop.

“I think this is not a great moment for Italy, for my country, to miss the World Cup after 56 years it’s a half disaster for us, because you know how important football is for Italy. I hope the federation will work to improve the situation.”

Antonio Conte spoke ahead of the Crystal Palace away clash and claimed neither Alvaro Morata nor N’Golo Kante will be fit for the game after picking up hamstring injuries, as well as Danny Drinkwater, who has been recovering from a calf injury since the beginning of September:

“I hope to have Morata for the game with Roma next week,” Conte revealed.

“Drinkwater we have to wait, calf problems are not easy. With Kante we are going to do a scan next week to check his situation, his improving, he’s got an hamstring problem.

“It’s a big loss for us, you know very well how he is important for us, we don’t have another player with the same characteristics.

“We are not lucky in this period, we have only Bakyoko and Fabregas available, we have to find different solutions, we have to adapt some defenders as midfielders, or use Scott or Ampadu in the first team.

Kante will be out around 20 days, more or less, for this reason we have to do another scan after one week, to understand the situation very well, to see the improvement, he’s a big loss and it’s a big problem for us.

“For sure we have to approach these seven games without him, we have Fabregas and Bakayoko, then youngsters, we have to find a solution, it will be very difficult to play with Fabregas and Bakayoko for seven games in a row, of course we have to hope to have no more injuries in these games.

“I think an injury can happen during the international break but not only there, for example Morata picked up a injury with Man City, we have to hope they come back in good physical conditions.

“I guess now it’s important to be focused on the present, on the next game, to do our job in the best way to put all our best.”

About his future, Conte said:

“I think that in the last weeks I’ve read wrong things, in the interview I gave I just said that one day, in the future, I would like to go back to Italy.

“I know my position, I have two more years of contract with Chelsea, I like to work here, I like to work with my players, I like the great feeling I got with the fans. My family now stays here and my daughter is going to school here in Cobham, I want to clarify this.

“When a coach starts the work with the club for sure he hopes to stay for a long time and to build something important with the club. Our job is very difficult because everything can change in one day.”

Andrea Pirlo announced he will retire from his footballer career in the end of the year and speculations claimed he could end up working as Conte’s assistant:

“I know that Andrea decided to retire and finish his career in December with NYCFC, I think in this moment he doesn’t know his future and what he wants to do once he’s finished with his career,” the Italian manager stated.

On adapting David Luiz as a midfielder during Kante’s absence he said:

“We are speaking to adapt a player – David Luiz- that is very important as a central defender, because for me David is important as a central defender, if I can I prefer not to change a lot, because if you find a system, you can lose something, to play with three central midfielders could be an option, but I don’t want to change a lot, but if there is the necessity I am ready to do this and I am also ready to give chances to young players, like Ampadu or Scott.

Continuing to speak about next games, Conte said:

“We must be focused to work, we must be focused to do our jobs, the players and I, I think this must be the most important thing for us. Some issues are not important, now it’s important to look at the next game.

Bathsuayi started against Burnley, Qarabag, so he has no problem to start other games.”

Speaking about Kenedy, who last summer ended the Asian tour in advance for some controversial posts on the social media, he said:

“I think his mind must be focused on the pitch, not on social media, I think my task is to help him to find the right way, not the wrong way. I explained it to him, I am sure he understood, I think he has to continue to work like he’s doing, social media are not the most important thing in his career. he’s a very talented player, I see him very well, he’s got a good prospect to become an important player for Chelsea, he has to continue this way, I am sure his chance will come.”

Speaking about academy players to be insert in the first team, Conte said:

“We tried to do this last season, don’t forget that a lot of players from the academy players played in different games, they will play a lot in Carabao Cup, I think they will have the opportunity to play for Chelsea.”

And,finally, about Andreas Christensen and Charlie Musonda’s development:

“I think he can be a good example that, after two years on loan and after a good experience with Borussia Mönchengladbach, he’s becoming an important player with Chelsea. Charlie has to continue this way, we have only three number 10 and usually we play with two, he’s a talented player and I am sure he will have a good career, if his attention is more on the pitch and not on the social media.”

Cesc Fabregas just posted a photo of Chelsea squad leaving for China on his Instagram account.

Besides the Spanish midfielder in the picture we recognize Courtois, Willian, Caballero, Batshuayi, Pedro, Davis Luiz, Marcos Alonso, Kenedy, Lewis Baker,  Remy, Christensen, Scott, Kalas, Pasalic, Clarke-Salter, Boga, Musonda.

As we said today new signings Tiemoué Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger didn’t travel as they are recovering from minor injuries, Eden Hazard stayed in London to have a better recovery for his fractured ankle injury, Nemanja Matic didn’t travel since he can sign for another team in the next days ( Man United?) and Diego Costa is still on his break in Brazil since he is out of the squad and ready for a return to Atletico Madrid.

The team will do a stop-over in Dubai before continuing their journey to Bejing, where they will play against Arsenal next Saturday.

Chelsea will then travel to Singapore where they will face Bayern Munich ( 25 July) and Inter ( 29 July) in the last two friendly games of this pre-season.

Transfer window was over two days ago but according to some rumours, Diego Costa continues to receive offers from China, where the transfer market is still open, and many football and market experts reckon the Spaniard can move to Chinese Super League next summer:

“I don´t know, every week I have a lot of news and speculations about Diego, now the important thing is to be focused in this title race. Diego now is with us, summer is far, and it´s important to be prepared for this title race.

Speaking about the possible signing two Celtic players, Moussa Dembele and Ryan Gordon, who eventually stayed at the Glasgow side, Conte said:

“I’ve never talked with my club about Dembele, we tried [to sign] Gordon because we tried to satisfy Begovic and his requests, he wanted to play every game, but I told him he could leave only if we could find a substitute: Gordon was one of the goalkeepers in our list, we tried but when Celtic told us they couldn’t sell him, it was over.”

“During this transfer window we signed three young players: Ake, Kenedy and Musonda.

Ake played very well for one year and half in the league, I think now he´s more mature, he can improve with us and help us until the end of the season, the others are two young players but with good quality.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte rely on youngsters and despite have chosen a standard starting XI for his team, he claims every player can become important, especially in a busy period like the one Chelsea will have in the next weeks.

Asked about young players in today’s press conference, the Italian coach said:

“We have a lot of young players and I trust in them. Ola Aina, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah, and also we have Zouma returned.”

Conte spoke also about two youngster who came back from their loan experience, and he explained why:

Kenedy and Charly Musonda came back from their loans at Watford and Real Betis because they didn’t play a lot and for this reason it is important for them to stay with us these weeks to evaluate the best situation for them and the team.

“It is important also to work with these type of young players to try find the right solutions at home, and if this is not possible, it is important to look around to find the solution.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte spoke to the media before the Premier League leaders clash against Stoke City today.

The Italian manager dismissed speculations about Thibaut Courtois moving to Real Madrid, that have been keen on the Belgian keeper for months:

“Thibaut for me is one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the world,” the Blues manager said.

“He is working very well and is a fantastic goalkeeper and he stays with us, this is the most important thing and the other situations are only speculation.”

Always speaking about transfer market, Conte talked about Oscar’s possible replacement:

“In January it is always very difficult to buy because every team thinks to keep their best players, not to sell but with the club we are thinking about the best way to face the rest of the season. For sure we are thinking about our situation and our squad.”

Conte also spoke about Oscar’s super deal:

“When you have a good group, a new player can arrive into the group in a simple way, and for sure we have sold Oscar and we have money to spend, but it is important to spend money in the right way. I prefer to buy players adapted to our system that can come into our team and pass, but I repeat, it is not easy in January to find these type of players but with the club, we are working on this aspect.”

The Italian coach also spoke about Chelsea youngsters, that are ready to perform in the first team in case of need:

Roma are keen on Chelsea young winger Charlie Musonda Jr.: the Belgium U21 international was loaned at Real Betis but returned to London last month to join Antonio Conte‘s first team squad.

The Italian club are scouted him to see if it’s possible to bring him to the Italian capital in the next January transfer window.

In fact, the Giallorossi need a winger to replace ex Blues player Mohamed Salah, who will join Egypt national team for one month in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda will stay at Real Betis on loan also for the 2016/17 season after he spent last season with the La Liga side.

The 19-year-old made 16 appearances for the club last season helping them to finish 10th on the league table.

Former Chelsea star Gus Poyet, who was appointed as Betis’s new boss in May, reportedly wanted the Belgium Under-21 international to strengthen his team in view of the next season.

Then Musonda jr. will look to continue his development in Spain.

Chelsea are closing the deal to sign AS Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger: the Blues made a £ 18m offer to the Italian club, that just just used their £ 6.5m buying option to sign him from Stuttgart.

The German international played in the Serie A side on loan in the past season and new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte eyed him.

The Blues directors are considering to send youngster Charlie Musonda Jr. in loan to have a discount on the transfer fee.
