Chelsea lose the League Cup final 4-3  against Manchester City at penalties after an intense game that ended goal-less in the 120′.

After a low pace first part with no special moments, Maurizio Sarri‘s team impressed in the second regular half but missed a couple of huge chances with Kanté and Pedro.

The extra time was leveled but still goal-less but the highlight of those 30′ was in the final minutes with Maurizio Sarri going literally mad at his goal-keeper Kepa, who refused to come off after a knock for Willy Caballero, who was ready to replace him.

Jorginho and David Luiz missed their penalties in the final shoot-outs and Sterling scored the fifth one for Citizens, after also Sanè missed his, giving them the cup and, so, first trophy of the season.

Chelsea lose 2-0 at home against Manchester United and are out of FA Cup at last 16.

Very bad display from the Blues, with no heart or character shown by the players on the pitch and some disappointed fans leaving the stadium way before the end of the game, even at half-time.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is now on the brink, as it seems he’s not able to lead the team properly anymore and his last signing, Gonzalo Higuain, is far from impressing at Stamford Bridge.

Goals for United were scored by Ander Herrera ( 31′) and Paul Pogba ( 45′).

Willian brace and Callum Odson-Hodoi’s goal against Sheffield Wednesday sent Chelsea to FA Cup last 16 tonight.

New Blues striker Gonzalo Higuain made his debut with the Blues shirt with an average performance and was far to impress but he will have time to adapt to English football.

Chelsea scored his first goal with Willian on penalty,  Hudson-Odoi ( who could move on loan elsewhere in the next days) scored the second goal at 64′ finding space inside the area and firing in off Keiren Westwood to put the Londoners in total control.

Willian then sealed the match at 83′ with an outstanding finish from the edge of the box.

Harry Kane’s VAR penalty gives Spurs adavantage after League Cup first leg semifinal played at Wembley tonight, as Tottenham win 1-0 over Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side took the lead in the 26th minute thanks to a VAR decision when Kane, adjudged to have been offside, raced through on goal before being upended by Kepa.

Referee Michael Owen wanted the offside call to be checked and once it was confirmed that the English forward was actually level with play the decision to award the spot-kick was an easy one and the English international gave his team the lead.

Chelsea came out strongly at the start of the second half, with Ngolo Kante testing Paulo Gazzaniga from distance, while Andreas Christensen missed a goal from close range.

Despite plenty of possession in the second part of the game, the Blues could not find a way to beat Gazzaniga, pointing out again the lack of a real striker upfront for Sarri’s lads.

Alvaro Morata was officially ruled out for tonight game against Spurs “for a minor hamstring problem in training this morning” as Chelsea media reported.

But there are reason to believe this might not be the truth.

In fact the Spaniard has been recently linked to Seville and it’s possible he is travelling to Andalucia in these hours to have a medical and seal the transfer.

Morata had gone through some tough times at Stamford Bridge in the past months: it seems he fell out with manager Maurizio Sarri and with most past of Chelsea fans, that are disappointed with some of his recent bad performances.

Within hours we will know what happens in the former Real Madrid striker’s future.
