Chelsea are keen on Bayern Munich young star Renato Sanches.

The Portuguese midfielder, 20, is willing to leave the club after failing to meet expectations in his first season in the Bundesliga side, asking for more playing time.

Sanches signed last summer in a £45m move but now he is on the brink to leave the German club.

Chelsea lost 3-2 to Bayern on Tuesday in Singapore and it was after this defeat that Blues boss Antonio Conte is understood to have spoken to the German champions’ high command about Sanches, the midfielder who gave N’golo Kante the runaround at the Singapore Sportshub.

AC Milan are leading the race to sign him, but the Italian club would like to sign the player on loan but Bayern want to sell him for a fee around £ 43m, as the Munich side CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed in the past days.

Antonio Conte wants more: after signing Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata the Blues boss is asking for more players to revamp his Chelsea squad.

Speaking ahead the friendly game with Inter in Singapore, the Italian tactician revealed that the club and him are still working to do more signings before the transfer window shuts down in the end of August:

“With the club we speak every day about the way to strengthen this team and the squad,” said Conte, talking in Singapore.

“The club knows very well which is my idea and where are the positions to strengthen and if this is possible, it is ok. If not, we continue this way.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte gave an update on Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s injuries.

Hazard broke his ankle while on international duty with Belgium, while Bakayoko is carrying a knee injury that has seen him miss the pre-season tour in China and Singapore.

Both players are set to miss the start of the season, as the Italian manager confirmed:

“It is difficult to say because arrive after a bad injury, after ankle surgery, it is not easy to programme the date to come back. We hope for them to recover very well. Their is recovering very well. You know the importance of these players.

“We will not rush them back as every player must be in the best of form to play, otherwise they are put in a bad position which could be damaging for the team.

“Bakayoko is in a similar position like Eden. For me it is very important to the players to understand my idea of football. For Bakayoko, for example, at the moment he doesn’t know anything about my idea of football.

For sure, he needs a bit of time to adapt and understand and this is the great difficulty for a coach that has an idea of football and wants to give an identity.

“When you take a player you need a bit of time to bring the player into your idea. It is the same now for Morata and for Rudiger. For sure, if the player arrives as soon as possible, it is easy for me.”

Speaking about rumours linking Hazard to Spanish giants like Real Madrid or Barcelona, Conte added:

“I don’t know anything about this situation. In the past I read a lot of stories about Hazard with Real Madrid. And now Barcelona. But this is the transfer market, we must understand this.

“Yes. He is very happy to stay with us and to play for Chelsea.”

AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone confirms Diego Costa is a Rossoneri target.

The Italian club, that have been active in this transfer window, are looking for an experienced and prolific striker to revamp their attack.

Yesterday they met powerful football agent Jorge Mendes in Sardinia and speaking about possible deals for his players – they have already signed forward André Silva from FC Porto – they included Diego Costa in their talks.

After the meeting with the Portuguese agent Fassone claimed:

“Diego Costa is a great player, but he is a Chelsea player and I would prefer to avoid talking about players from other teams.

“We went to see Jorge Mendes; there is a lot you can talk to him about. Costa is a great player but he is of Chelsea. That’s all.”

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke ahead friendly games against Bayern Munich and Chelsea in Singapore.

The Nerazzurri are going to play Ancelotti’s side tomorrow, 27 July, and the Blues on Saturday 29 before heading back to Italy.

First of all, the ex AS Roma coach revealed that no bids were placed for a Chelsea target:

“Candreva? There’s been no offer for him.

Then he spoke about his next rivals, both coached by Italian managers, Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte.

Bayern Munich and Chelsea both have no weaknesses and are strong, but I expect an Inter side that can aim to do well. These teams must be in our sights.”

Speaking after Bayern’s defeat Chelsea boss Conte praised Spalletti, claiming Inter appointed one the best managers available, making a very good deal to fulfill their ambitions to be back in the European clubs elite again:

Conte’s praise? He’s strong and a winner, so I’m happy that he’s expressed certain ideas about me. There’s a mutual esteem, and I saw Chelsea play well against the Germans.

“Antonio is a coach in trend, he’s managed to win a title at Chelsea with three at the back, in a League where playing with four was almost a rule.”

Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses commented the 3-2 defeat against Bayern Munich the team suffered in a pre-season game in Singapore:

“It was the third game of the pre-season and we were a little bit flat first half. They scored three good goals but that is something we need to work on at the training ground, to make sure we correct that. We have good players who know what’s right and what’s wrong and we will get there, it was just one of those games.

“It was a slow start. This was a pre-season game and we must just get ourselves back fit again and keep on working hard in training. We played a very good side and it is something we have to work on and take on from there.”

“The fitness is definitely getting there because we have been working very hard in training and in the second half we did very well. It was a shame we lost 3-2 but it is pre-season and we will move on to the next game.

“With me playing my first 90 minutes, you do blow a bit but I needed that, and when the season starts that will help.”

Moses moved on the left wing in the last 30′ after Fikayo Tomori replaced Marcos Alonso:

“The manager told me to go left wing-back and I can play left-wing-back if needed, especially in a pre-season game. When I was a winger in the past I played on the right and on the left so it is not a problem.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte analysed the team defeat in the pre-season friendly match against Bayern Munich in Singapore.

The German side won 3-2, scoring their three goals in the first 30′ of the match, where Chelsea seemed completely out of the game:

“We conceded three goals in half-hour and it’s not simple, it was a difficult situation but the reaction was very good,” the Italian coach claimed.

“We didn’t give up and the commitment was good. We tried to fight. Our start wasn’t good but the players showed me a great will to try to change the result. We are only in pre-season and we are working very hard.

“Bayern are a top club, one of the best in the world. Regularly they win the league in Germany and in the Champions League they normally reach the final or semi-final, but we must take the positives and continue to work.’

Speaking about new Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata, who made his unofficial debut for the Blues in the second half and assisted Michy Batshuayi for the second goal, Conte said:

“It’s not easy to speak about the impact of Alvaro because he’s only been with us two days and he needs to work and find his feet, and understand our idea of football, but for sure he showed a great will and for us he’s a great buy.

“We need to give him the right time to adapt to our way of football but he must be pleased with his performance.”

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti thinks Premier League clubs will improve their performances and results in next Champions League.

Since Chelsea lifted the trophy in 2012 there have been no English finalists and sides from the Premier League reached the semi-finals just twice. Last season only Leicester progressed beyond the Round of 16 before falling at the quarter-finals against Atletico Madrid.

The Bayern Munich manager spoke about this situation ahead of today’s friendly game against his old team in Singapore

“The last period in the Champions League, the Premier League teams had problems, but this year I think they have really good teams in the competition,” the Italian tactician said.

“Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City… I think with these teams the Champions League will be really more competitive. There was a period when the English teams did not do well in the competition but it was only a period. I think it’s finished.”

Chelsea will be very competitive in the Champions League. The team is better. Last year was a fantastic year for Chelsea and Antonio Conte. He was able to change the mentality of the team and the style of play and for this reason they will be competitive. Can they win it? I don’t know, I hope not.”

The youngster, posted a couple of Instagram stories where he was insulting China and his people in Portuguese:  he first published shot of himself along with the added caption ‘Porra China,’ which roughly translates from Portuguese as the equivalent of ‘F*** China’.

Then he uploaded a snap he had taken of a sleeping Chinese security guard, captioning the image: ‘Acorda China Vacilao,’ – again roughly translated to read along the lines of ‘Wake up China idiot.’

The club immediately an official statement on their website and social media channels in which they state the player has been ‘been strongly reprimanded and disciplined.’

The statement read:

“On July 22nd, Chelsea Football Club experienced the warmth and friendliness of Chinese fans at the National Stadium. However, we were surprised and disappointed that one day prior to the match, one of our young players, Kenedy, posted messages on his social media account that caused great offence and hurt the feelings of the people of China,’ the statement opened.

“Unfortunately, even though he quickly deleted the messages and apologised, and the club also apologised via our Chinese social media channels, the damage had already been done. Chelsea Football Club once again solemnly and sincerely apologises.”

“Kenedy’s actions were a mistake that he will learn greatly from. His behaviour does not represent the entire team and does not align with the club’s high expectations and strict requirements of its young players. He has been strongly reprimanded and disciplined.”

“Everyone at Chelsea Football Club has the utmost respect and admiration for China and loves our Chinese fans. It is because of this that the negative impact we have seen over the last two days has left us shocked and saddened. Once again, we sincerely apologise for the hurt caused to our Chinese fans as well as to the Chinese people.”

“The match was a great cultural exchange event between China and Britain and the club is extremely grateful to China for its hospitality, which has brought us closer together in friendship. We very much hope to build on our strong relationship with our Chinese fans and friends, joining hands firmly with China in future for further cooperation.”

“We offer this apology with utmost sincerity. We have listened carefully to the criticism and will use the lessons learnt over the last two days to improve our processes in future.”

This case could cause a ban from China, where laws are very strict, for Chelsea. Kenedy was widely booed for his actions during the friendly game against Arsenal last Saturday in Beijing.

The player himself posted an apologise on his Instagram account, but it was too late. His post read:

“I would like to apologise to the people of China for the offence I have caused. It was never my intention to insult or offend anyone at all and I now realise that my comments were totally inappropriate. I wish to state that I have tremendous respect and admiration for the Chinese people and their country. I would also like to apologise to my club Chelsea and all my companions who I have let down by my posts. I fully understand the responsibility of representing my club and it was never my intention to cause this embarrassment nor disrespect.”

Today Chelsea issued a bilingual statement which read: Chelsea FC can confirm that Kenedy has returned to the UK and will play no further part in the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.”
