Eden Hazard shared his satisfaction for the Champions League last 16 qualification and his great performance after the 4-0 against Qarabag in Azerbaijan:

“We did everything well, apart from conceding the first chance when they hit the post. Maybe that would be different if that went in. We should have scored more,” Hazard told BT Sport.

“It is easy to play with these good players. We have a big game at Liverpool on Saturday so it was good to have a small rest. We are ready for Saturday.”

during the UEFA Champions League group C match between Qarabag FK and Chelsea FC at Baki Olimpiya Stadionu on November 22, 2017 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

After not making an impact in this first part of the season, also because he was not a regular starter, Willian was again a protagonist for Chelsea tonight, with a brace scored in the 4-0 win in Azerbaijan, the second one a real gem, a typical shot of his from outside the box.

First of all, the Brazilian winger commented the controversial decision of the foul that determined the 3-0 penalty:

“There was a little bit of contact. For me, it was penalty, “ Willian said about his contact with Sadiqov.

“I was happy to score two goals, and we deserved to win. We played well from the beginning.

“We need all players to be ready for all games. We play every three days so we have to rest.”

After sealing the qualification for Champions League last 16 after the 4-0 win against Qarabag tonight Antonio Conte already set his mind on next Saturday’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield:

“For sure, we have to work during the flight to prepare the game against Liverpool. But I must be honest, with my staff, we started also before to prepare the game against Liverpool, not to arrive at the last moment,” Conte said.

“To have only one day to rest and prepare this big game is not simple, not easy. I think also it’s not right,” the Italian manager complained about the schedule.

“But now I think, after tonight, we must be pleased that we reached our first target: to go through into the next round of the Champions League.

“To avoid the Atletico game becoming decisive, for us, is very important. It will be a good chance also to have another rotation with my players.

“Tonight is very positive for us in a game that I knew very well would not be easy. Don’t forget Atletico Madrid are in trouble because they have drawn twice against Qarabag, and Roma struggled a lot before winning here. We faced a really good team.”

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard praises Blues star Eden Hazard, who was one of the protagonists in tonight 4-0 win against Qarabag with one goal, on penalty, and one assist but it was his performance, as a real top player and team leader, that impressed Lampard:

“When Chelsea play well Eden Hazard plays well, it’s been a constant over the last few years and he creates so much,” the former midfielder told BT Sport.

“Goals is the one question mark really, we speak about him regularly and the number of goals he gets.

“I do like seeing him in this central role though. When he does get in these central positions he can finish.”

Mohamed Salah has been, for sure, Liverpool top player in these first months of the season.

Chelsea will visit Anfield next Saturday and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp praised the Egyptian star, claiming he is in a top form moment:

“This is the Mo Salah period, no problem with that, well deserved. But he’s also very important even when he’s not scoring because he stretches the formation.

“The speed of the boys means the last line drops – there can be no other reaction. And then we have the space to play. The speed players aren’t only for counter-attacking. Sometimes that’s not possible. It’s about stretching formation and creating space for the rest.”

Salah immediately impressed at Liverpool while he couldn’t make an impact when he signed for Chelsea – 19 appearances – three years ago: Klopp insists that his in-form forward did not return to the Premier League with revenge in mind.

“I don’t think it’s like this.

“Maybe it was one reason he came back, but he’s not like ‘now I will show you the real Mo Salah’.

“He’s completely relaxed. For sure he wanted to show a little bit he’s better than that, but everyone knew it already.

Antonio Conte feels a win against Qarabag could be really important for Chelsea, as the Blues will have a busy schedule from now until February, when the Champions League last 16 will take place.

Should the West London side win against the Azerbaijan team they will qualify for Champions League next stage without waiting for Atletico Madrid’s clash in the beginning of December:

“We have to play the most important game of the season from the start until now,” Conte said.

“If we are able to win against Qarabag, we can go through to the next round of the Champions League and this is very important because this period from now until January is very busy, so it is very important to win the game.

“For sure it won’t be easy because in the last two games they drew twice against Atletico Madrid, and before that they lost the game but Roma were struggling a lot to win against them so it is very important to be focused, to work and to try to win the game.”
Conte continued:
“I must be honest, these players always show great desire and will to fight in every game.
“Against Roma, together we didn’t show this , me first. I always put myself before the players and I always take the responsibility.

“In Rome we didn’t deserve to finish the first half 2-0 down, but the second half was negative because we didn’t show the desire to come back to try to draw it or win.

“But I think this season, we faced a lot of problems from the start and now we are trying to solve these problems, to recall players, to find the right form for players like, for example, Eden Hazard and it is the same for [Alvaro] Morata who is playing his first season in England.

“Then [N’Golo] Kante is recovering good form and we know very well the importance of these players for us. We had a lot of problems and also we are trying to change something in the tactical aspect and to find different solutions, because when you are conceding many goals, it means you have to find a new balance.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte complains about Premier League fixtures schedule: the Blues will travel to Anfield next Saturday, an away game after a long journey to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag in Champions League next Wednesday, while Liverpool will play in the same competition in Sevilla one day earlier:

“For sure who prepares these fixtures must pay great attention,” said the Chelsea manager.

“Don’t forget now we have another problem because we are going to play at Qarabag on Wednesday and then we go back to London at five, six o’clock, but we have another great game against Liverpool on Saturday. Is it normal, this? I don’t think.

“If someone wants more balance in this league I think they must pay greater attention before to prepare the fixtures.”

LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 30: Gary Cahill of Chelsea and David Silva of Manchester City battle for possession during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on September 30, 2017 in London, England.

Gary Cahill warns Manchester City: despite the Citizens leading the Premier League table with 34 points in 12 games, 8 more than Manchester United and 9 more than Chelsea, the Blues captain believes that Pep Guardiola’s side still have a long way to go before securing the title:

“They’ve started off full steam ahead and that’s great for them, but we’re not even at Christmas yet, so let’s just hold fire and see how they get on,” the centre-back told Chelsea’s website.

“They look fantastic at the moment and we have taken a fair bit of criticism at times this season, but we’ve had three clean sheets on the bounce in the league now, it was a great performance and we’ve got a long way still to go.”

Speaking about yesterday’s win at West Brom Cahill said:

“I have to admit it was a superb performance from us, from every single player, and collectively we are very happy,” the 31-year-old said. “I felt we played some good football, we kept the ball when we needed to and we scored goals. We saw a bit of everything from us, so performance-wise it was very, very good.

“We were away from home so we expected to be under a bit of pressure, especially early on, and they did come out of the traps pretty quick. We had five or 10 minutes where we had to get hold of the game, but I thought we dealt with that very quickly and once we had control of the game, we went from strength to strength.

“I’m sure they found it very difficult to play against us, we always seemed to have an option to get out of trouble and there was a lot of composure on the ball, which allowed us to keep it for long periods.

“So it was a great team performance, one we have kind of been waiting for, and the scoreline we have been kind of waiting for, so we’re delighted.”

Chelsea secure three points at The Hawthorns after a superb display with Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata on fire.

The Belgian star scores a brace, while the Spaniard scores the opener at 16′  and offers a super assist to his team-mate for his first goal at 23′, while Marcos Alonso marks his presence on the score-sheet with a gem at 38′.

Not even ten minutes in the second half and Eden Hazard scores the 4th and definitive goal, while WBA can regret to have not taken the chance to overcome the Blues in the first fifteen minutes of the first half, when they outplayed their rivals and even scored a goal, who was disallowed for offside.

After Morata’s opener it was Chelsea to control the game, with the Baggies trying to score at least one goal to re-open the game but stopped by a great Blues display in defence, with Andreas Christensen again impressing while David Luiz was left again on the bench by Antonio Conte.

Now Chelsea are second in the table with 25 points, 8 behind Man City still leading the Premier League table with 33 after winning 2-0 at Leicester today.

Should Manchester United win against Newcastle tonight ( kickoff at 5.30 pm GMT) and reach 25 points, the Blues will slip to third place.
