During the press conference after the win of the semi-finals of the FA Cup against Southampton, Antonio Conte explains all his happiness for this results, a gift to Blues’ supporters for this season. Despite next and last step is Manchester United, hard opponent, Conte is proud about this final.

‘The most important thing in this type of game is to reach your target, in this case the final of this competition,’

‘It’s very important for the players, for the club and especially for our fans. I’m delighted for them. Always this season they showed great passion and pushed us in every moment, difficult moments and positive moments’

‘This final will be a game between two great teams. Last season we arrived in the final as favourites; this season we will arrive not as favourites, but last season we lost the final despite being favourites at that moment.’

The game was solved in the second half thanks Oliver Giroud and Alvaro Morata, who substituted Giroud two minutes before go in goal.

I knew we had to play against three central defenders who are very strong physically, so I decided to start with Olivier, but when Morata came on his impact was impressive, in the same way as Pedro and Bakayoko’s impact was.’

About Giroud: ‘He has been a good signing for us, for sure. I needed a player with his characteristics: strong physically, able to hold the ball up allow our no.10 to make combinations with him’.

About Morata: ‘He is an important striker. He is younger than Olivier and has less experience. He is less strong physically, but he is very fast to attack the space. I’m pleased for both of them.’

Not only Chelsea, also City, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal are following him but Chelsea could think to quicken trusting in his love for Chelsea. Shaw and his family are Chelsea fan, could this be an incentive?

Blues are reportedly interested also in Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey who has a contract with Gunners until 2019 but has not received an offer yet. The Wales international is still waiting for a new deal, and also José Mourinho made an enquiry about him, then Manchester United could be a Chelsea’ competitor.

Chelsea are going to Wembley for the second year in a row: the Blues gained the pass to FA CUP semifinals after beating Leicester City away for 2-1 at extra time, Pedro scored the decisive goal at 105′, after Morata and Vardy netted the two goals in the 90′.

It was a tough game, with the Foxes believing in it in every minute of the game and showing the same passion and determination that allowed them to win the title two years ago.

Alvaro Morata was back to score when in the end of the first half he netted the ball with a fantastic finish after a great assist of Willian in a counter-attack.

Vardy equalised with 15′ to go after a series of rebounds in Chelsea box and this meant extra time.

It was Pedro to get Chelsea the pass to Wembley scoring with a header in the end of the first exta time after Kasper Schmeichel didn’t choose the right timing coming out of the goal.

Now Conte’s side will face Southampton at Wembley in one month.

Antonio Conte regretted after defeat at Old Strafford against a ‘great’ Manchester United dragged by Lukaku and Lingard.

Speaking after the game, the manager said: “I think the draw was the fair result for this game. But we are talking about a defeat and that’s all”

“We had to be more clinical, instead we kept the game open, and the opponent made us pay.  Manchester United are a great team, and we must be disappointed, because I repeat today,  we could have done better.”

“We know there is a battle and it will be difficult to find a place in the Champions League.”

About Morata offside and VAR said: “I must be honest, I didn’t see the situation, but if you’re telling me Alvaro Morata wasn’t offside, I think VAR is very important, especially in England. There are a lot of moments in the game where there are things to super-check”.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has revealed that Ryan Mason’s retirement from football was “heartbreaking”.

The Blues captain was involved in a clash of heads with the former Hull City player in January 2017 that left Mason with a fractured skull.

The ex-midfielder was forced to retire earlier this week 13 months on from the injury for the consequences of it, news which Cahill was “devastated” to receive.

“I was devastated to hear that Ryan Mason has retired from professional football this week, I can’t even imagine what he’s feeling and going through, having to retire at such a young age, and when I heard the news it was heartbreaking,” the defender told Chelsea’s official programme in last night game issue.

“I’ve got a son and a beautiful fiancee around me, so these are the sort of things that mean more to you than football when things are put into perspective. Challenging for the ball in the air is such a common thing and you never expect consequences like this to come from it.

“That is when football goes totally out of your thoughts and it becomes about making the best decision for your health. I want to spend my best wishes to Ryan and his family. The most important thing in life is your health, and I am sure he will now go on to be successful in whatever he chooses to do next.”

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud reacts to his first ever goal scored with the Blues shirt in tonight FA Cup clash against Hull City:

“I was waiting for it [a first goal]. I had a couple of chances in previous games,” the French striker said.

“It was important for me to score my first goal. It’s relieved me a little bit.

“We can see the team had a good team cohesion. It was important to bounce back after some disappointing results.

“This confidence is very important to carry on like that. We need momentum.

“Everything is going in the right way. We’re very pleased with our last two games so let’s carry on.”

An easy job for Chelsea tonight: four goals in the first half to beat Hull City and gain FA Cup quarter finals.

Everything went smoothly for the Blues when after only 160 seconds Willian netted the opener with an amazing shot of his from the box limit that just entered in the posts cross.

The Blues took control of the game and, in only 25 minutes, had the time to miss four chances with Fabregas, Willian, Giroud and Pedro.

The Spaniard, anyway, redeemed himself with a beautiful goal at 27′ and, only five minutes later, Willian sealed the game with his personal brace with another shot from the limit.

Right before half-time Olivier Giroud could score his first goal in Chelsea shirt assisted by Emerson Palmieri, at his official debut tonight.

The game was practically over only after 45 minutes, with the two sides doing something more than a training in the second part.

Chelsea will know their rivals in the quarter finals next week, but now their mind is only at the Champions League clash against Barcelona next Tuesday.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was victim of a prank during today’s press conference when Stefano Corti and Alessandro Onnis, from the Italian satirical television show Le Iene, sitted among the journalists in Cobham’s press room, showed him a video they filmed in Manchester with José Mourinho at the time of their famous “verbal war” about one month ago.

The Red Devils boss was a victim of a prank as well, when he was given a Man United shirt to be signed, to discover only later that had printed “Antonio Conte” on his back.

The video was not visible to the assembled media, only to Conte and the Chelsea press officer. The message, spoken mostly in Italian, said: “Antonio, we sent you a messenger. A present for you from your brand new friend, Jose Mourinho! He told us he loves you. Look at what he has written on the present he sent out for you: ‘Your friend, Jose.’

“Can you promise us that next time you play against him you will share a sign of peace? Come on, Antonio…you will be friends forever!”

Conte had a little laugh at the message, but said he had “nothing” to say. Corti then presented the Blues boss with shirt, telling him: “This is a present for you. It is signed by Jose Mourinho – ‘To my friend Antonio’. Long live friendship… shall I leave it to you?”

Conte didn’t seem to amused by the whole scene. He could hardly be described as bemused either, and his responded to Corti: “No, you can take it with you. Keep it, you will give it to me later.”

The Chelsea rep thanked him for his effort, but reminded him that time is limited in this press conference, and that he really should have done the video and shirt presentation afterward; as Corti was taking time away from journalists with actual questions.

This is the video of what happened:
