The Guardian claims that the FIFA investigation into Chelsea‘s transfer dealings involves ‘over 100 young player cases’ with the club set to find out whether they will be banned from the market for two years.

Officers from FIFA’s Integrity and Compliance unit have spent over three years investigating into these cases: at first, it was  thought that the number of cases being probed was around 25, however now the number has increased and it is believed the cases can be over 100.

According to French online news site Mediapart, one of the organisations publishing the findings of Football Leaks, Chelsea could be punished with a fine of £45,000 and an embargo on all signings to cover a total of four transfer windows, from next summer to summer 2021, with the club back on transfer market in January 2021.

The unit have delved not only into how players are transferred but how they are being registered at the club’s academy.

The disciplinary committee is now closing in on its decision, which means the West London club will find out soon whether they will face any financial sanctions or a transfer market ban. Should they be found guilty, the club would have the right to an appeal to FIFA and then to the court of arbitration for sport.

FIFA are investigating other Premier League clubs for similar breaches.

Chelsea on Wednesday night said: “The club has fully co-operated with FIFA and has provided comprehensive evidence demonstrating its compliance with FIFA regulations. We will not comment further.”

A FIFA spokesman added: “Investigations were opened concerning Chelsea as well as other English clubs. No further information can be provided.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri usullay gives interviews in English but in his post-match interview on BT Sport, he was so furious that had his interpreter standing next to him.

And the Italian made clear how he felt about his team:

“I’m really angry about the approach that we adopted today,” the Blues manager said.

“You can find yourself in difficulties from time to time, but we need to react to those difficulties a lot better than we did today.

“It’s an approach we can’t really accept. It was the same in our game against Tottenham.

“We thought we’d overcome that problem, but it seems we really struggle to get ourselves up for these games at times.

“I don’t mind losing but I don’t like losing in this manner.”

Chelsea now sit 4th in the table and lead Arsenal and Manchester United by just three points with 15 games to go.

Jorginho in the Sarri deal? These are separate matters”

Chelsea FC are expected to make official new manager Maurizio Sarri‘s appointment today, or no later than tomorrow.

The new Stamford Bridge boss is close to sign for the Stamford Bridge club and he’s expected in London today.

According to the Daily Mail, Sarri, is likely to sign a two-year contract that will include the option of a third year and is said to be planning to sleep at the club’s Cobham training ground at first upon his arrival, where there is a house inside the complex.

Chelsea are believed to be paying around £4.5million to release the Italian coach from Napoli after a contractual dispute caused a delay and slowed down their transfer activity.

Sarri would like to bring Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly and Italy international Jorginho, both crucial players in his Napoli side, and in the last days also the name of Belgian striker Dries Mertens – also in Napoli squad and great friend with Blues star Eden Hazard- became hot in the list of the possible transfers from Napoli toward Stamford Bridge.

However,  Chelsea’s lack of Champions League football could cost them in contract talks with new signings bound to want large bonuses for getting them back into Europe’s elite competition.

Most players who are not at the World Cup are believed to be due back for pre-season on July 9 but have been waiting to find out who will be in charge.

The reportedly incoming Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants £179m to be made available to revamp his squad next summer, Italian reports claim.

The former Napoli head coach was replaced by ex Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the 2017-18 season following another failed Scudetto bid, with rivals Juventus eventually pipping the Naples club to the title.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that he is keen to bring three players with him to London from the Azzurri: central defender Kalidou Koulibaly, full-back Elseid Hysaj and midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Sarri is expected to be named as the new Blues boss soon, though the report claims he is waiting for Roman Abramovich’s approval.

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is also a target, and there is a possibility that Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could be used in the deal for a swap.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been granted Israeli citizenship after delays in the renewal of his UK visa, which some view as part of a crackdown on wealthy Russians.

Abramovich, who is worth an estimated £8.6 billion ($11.4 billion), exercised his right under Israel’s Law of Return, which allows Jews from anywhere in the world to gain Israeli citizenship.

Incidentally, with his new citizenship, Abramovich has instantly become Israel’s richest person and perhaps he’ll find it easier to get back into the UK as an Israeli citizen.

Unlike the Russians, the Israelis do get a visa-free stay in the UK for up to six months straight, but it’s not clear if the decision on the Tier 1 investor visa that he needs is actually affected by the citizenship of the applicant.

Chelsea are working to appoint a new manager for next season. Blues’ legend Frank Lampard isn’t a candidate this summer, but he hopes he can sit on the London’s club bench in the future.

Chelsea, of course, is like a dream job that will be there one day. But that is not always the route that it takes, so it might take me to go somewhere else before I can ever do that”. Lampard told Goal.com. “We will see, but I certainly have ambitions to do it”.

Lampard it’s aware it not depends primarily on him, but he admits he will accept a Chelsea managerial role with no hesitation: “How could I not take it if Chelsea offered me the job?” the former Blues midfielder went on. “Chelsea are my club and I feel like I have a lot to offer. But that’s obviously for other people to decide, for important people, if and when I am ready to do that.”

Italian TV  Premium Sport reports that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will part ways with the club in the next few hours.

Conte joined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 after having managed the Italian national team at Euro 2016: he won the Premier League during his debut season but failed even to reach the top four in this one, a frustration partially mitigated by the success in the FA Cup final against Manchester United in the past weekend.

According to Premium, the termination of the manager’s contract is a contentious issue though, as the club wants to end it by mutual consent but Conte intends to get sacked to cover also the year left on the deal or to get a good payout.

It’s well known that the Italian boss’ relationship with Chelsea board fell out in the last months, mainly because Conte reckons it wasn’t given enough credit to his work and also because he wasn’t trusted during transfer market negotiations.

Possible substitutes to replace him are former AS Roma and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique and Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic, as Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri seems keen to join Zenit St. Petersburg at the moment.
