Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis spoke ahead of tonight’s clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where the Brazilian star played 7 games in 2014/15 campaign.

And Luis believes Chelsea made a mistake when let Diego Costa leave the Premier League champions to reunite with former club Atletico Madrid in September.

“Diego is a huge player, best player for me at Chelsea is him because he scores a lot of goals and important goals – Luis said speaking at a press conference ahead of the Champions League clash – I think he came back to Atletico because Chelsea couldn’t keep him because it’s his desire. He really wanted to come back to Atletico”.

“He was happy here. He did his job really well. His most important desire was to come back. It is frustrating seeing him playing like an animal, but he can’t play. It’s just a month until he can play with us. He’ll help us a lot. I don’t have any doubts about it”.

“He knows the club, he knows the way we play. He has already adapted. I know it was difficult times for him and for Chelsea. Now everybody’s happy. We want to see him play and happy again.”

Chelsea fans shouldn’t worry: Antonio Conte is happy at Stamford Bridge, the board have great respect and consideration of him and it’s highly improbable he will quit his role or he will be sacked.

These are the thoughts of Michael Emenalo, former Chelsea technical director, who spoke for the first time about the Blues after leaving the club and accepting a new role with French side As Monaco.

Chelsea are very lucky,” – Emenalo told talkSPORT. – “Every year we seemed to find some very good people to manage or coach that club and I think in Antonio Conte they have one of the best three coaches in the world. I think that he enjoys a lot of respect at the senior level, the board level and the ownership level of the club, so there should be no worries at all. It is true that I have a very good personal relationship with him, I love his work, I love his passion, I love his ideas. But I think he’ll be just fine. He is surrounded by a lot of competent assistants, those he brought with him and those who were already at the club, and their recent results just show they will keep going on stronger and stronger.”

Tomorrow night Chelsea will face Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge in their last Champions League group stage match.

The Blues have already earned a spot in the Last 16 of the competition, but they want to defeat the Spanish side in order to secure themselves also the top place in the group’s table.

I think this game is important because we are playing against Atletico Madrid and they have shown in the past to be an important team in this tournament,” – manager Antonio Conte told Chelsea official website –  “Now there is a risk they will be eliminated, but we have to play a good game, to improve our confidence, and because we want to reach the first position in our group. But if you arrive first, you could then get teams like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Juventus. It doesn’t change a lot if you arrive first or second. The most important thing is to reach the next stage, but for our mission and our confidence, it would be right to win and arrive first.”

SkySports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Victor Moses ‘makes a huge difference’ in Chelsea‘s tactical plans after his return from injury in the 3-1 home win against Newcastle United.

“He missed a large chunk of the season with a hamstring injury – Redknapp said about the Nigeria international – He makes a huge difference. With the system they play with wing-backs, he’s taught himself – and the manager’s obviously helped him – to be one of the best wing-backs in world football”.

“It suits him that position, and there’s no surprise that he was involved with the penalty, he’s involved with the goal. I thought he was brilliant [against Newcastle] and he is top class.”

Moses, who was named Nigerian footballer of the Year earlier last month, was crucial in Chelsea’s title race in the Premier League 2016/17 campaign.

Today at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard impressed with his performance and he scored two goals.

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness believes the Belgian star can follow in the footsteps of the two best football players at the moment, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“When you think of the players who can take the mantle from the two top players at the moment – Messi and Ronaldo – Hazard comes into that category. He is that good,” – Souness said. – “His best years are ahead of him. My only criticism of him is that sometimes he’s not bang at it, but when he is in the mood he was today he is unplayable. The truly great players become unplayable, and when he is at it he certainly is great. You can set all the bear traps and obstacles for him but, like all the great players, he finds a solution to what’s put in front of him”.
