During his pre-match press conference, Chelsea’s manager Maurizio Sarri reacted to N’Golo Kante contract extension with the London club.

N’Golo for us is not an important player, he is a determined player and I am very happy for him. It is very good news for us. I know that David said something about him, that he doesn’t want to pay the bill in the restaurant, but he is a very professional player on the pitch and off it”. Sarri explained. “He is very important defensively, but he can score more and he can improve in the final 25 metres of the pitch”.

Now, the Italian manager hopes also another Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, could sign a new contract with the Blues: “I don’t know the movement of the contract”. Sarri admitted. “He is doing very well, he played on Sunday so was with us on Tuesday. But I hope we can do [a new contract], I hope so”.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been recently linked with a move to Olympique Marseille, who also failed to land Mario Balotelli from OGC Nice in the summer transfer market window.

The Frenchman came off the bench in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth last time out as he provided an assist for teammate Pedro Rodriguez in the second half.

Also Maurizio Sarri has praised the former Arsenal star despite he has not been given many chances with the Blues so far. And Giroud told French outlet Telefoot: “I still have one year of contract, plus possibly another year. The board of the club have been positive in terms of giving me it.

“I do not know yet, we’ll see how things are in April or May, but I won’t exclude any possibility. We’ll see.”

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has confirmed he will leave Aston Villa following just one season at the club. The 37-year-old signed a one-year-deal last summer and “gave everything” to reach the promotion in the current campaign, as he wrote on Instagram tonight.

Terry made 35 appearances with the SkyBet Championship side before Saturday’s play-off final loss to Fulham. He said: “I will look back on my time here and think about how close we were to reaching our goal. I have given my everything this year both on and off the pitch”.

“I’m still hurting today that we never managed to get back to the Premier League, where this club 100% belongs. This club will always have a place in my heart”.

We wrote earlier last week that John Terry was expected to sign a new deal with Aston Villa despite failing to reach their main target of the season before something apparently went wrong.

Despite all the rumours and speculations about an agreement already reached with Real Madrid for next season, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois seems now willing to sign a contract extension with the Blues.

Speaking with HLN’s Kristof Terreur, the Belgian said about his contract: “It has just turned the new year, so we will wait a few weeks and then sit around the table. I’m happy at Chelsea and a deal is close.”

Courtois, also revealed to Kristof Terreur that his contract extension could be linked to Hazard‘s one: “Do Eden and I encourage each other? Yes. He will say ‘if you sign, I will sign’ and I say the same to him. With the money he will raise, you can buy five players but none of them will be like Eden. It would be like Barcelona losing Lionel Messi or Real Madrid losing Cristiano Ronaldo.”
