According to various reports in Italy and England, in particular by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are trying to “beat” Manchester City in the race to sign SS Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

The player already has an agreement with Pep Guardiola‘s team, but the two clubs haven’t agreed a fee to complete the midfielder’s move to Etihad Stadium.

So now Chelsea are offering more money than Manchester City to sign Jorginho, a part of which, as it is understood, would also be used to pay the clause and free Maurizio Sarri from his contract with SS Napoli.

Moreover, midfielder Jean-Michael Seri has been reportedly spotted in London ahead of a potential move to Chelsea. And this could make a move for Jorginho more unlikely.

Chelsea are set to appoint Maurizio Sarri as their new manager in the next few hours, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

Sarri is reportedly expected in London today (at the latest by Saturday night) )to “organise everything possible” ahead of pre-season which starts on 9th July.

The 59-year-old could be unveiled on Monday, while SSC Napoli will confirm the appointment of former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian manager has named Alisson, Gonzalo Higuain, José Maria Callejon and Daniele Rugani as Chelsea’s main targets ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge. Which now seems to be imminent. Will Sarri saga end soon?

AC Milan are still interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas especially following the serious injury suffered by Riccardo Montolivo this week, according to Tuttosport.

The 29-year-old is struggling with game time at Stamford Bridge under new manager Antonio Conte, who recently said: “Cesc is in our plans, we all know him on the pitch as a fantastic player but I am starting to know him also as a man”.

Also Il Corriere dello Sport claimed this morning that the Rossoneri remain keen on the Spaniard:

The Daily Mail has reported Italian sides Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard has struggled for form this season as Chelsea’s torrid title defence sees them sit in 14th in the table.

Fabregas was booed before and during the  3-1 win over Sunderland earlier this month, having been identified as one of the key culprits in the supposed player revolt against former boss Jose Mourinho.

The rumour, which originated from Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, does not mention any firm bids, or indeed if Chelsea are willing to sell, how much for.
