Atletico Madrid are lining-up a summer move to land Alvaro Morata from Chelsea as they remain keen to replace Antoine Griezmann if the Frenchman leaves the club, according to Italian publication Tuttosport this morning.

We reported earlier last night that Morata and Lopez were spotted in Milan on Wednesday ahead of a meeting with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, who’s reportedly closing on a move to sign also full-back Matteo Darmian from Manchester United and Premier League.

Juventus are closing on a move to sign also Liverpool star Emre Can and Italian goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

Current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Pablo Simeone was spotted while shouting at Alvaro Morata in Champions League clash against Real Madrid earlier in 2017 and some reports in Spain suggested he asked him to join Los Colchoneros in the future.

However Morata himself revealed a few weeks later: “He came to me and asked me a croissant from the brand I have launched.”

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea in July on a permanent move from Real Madrid.

According to Soccer Laduma, Atletico Madrid are ready to sell Yannick Carrasco during the January transfer window.

Chelsea targeted the player during the summer, but they didn’t complete the move, because Atletico’s manager Simeone didn’t want to sell the Belgian.

Now things are different in the Spanish team and Atletico Madrid are ready to sell Carrasco with Chelsea still interested and Bayern Munich also who are keen on the player.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Pablo Simeone believes Chelsea are a strong team to face considering their attitude and intensity on the pitch. The Blues are enjoying the 1st place in Group C after beating Qarabag and the La Liga giants in their first games of Champions League so far.

“We had never faced a team with the intensity of Chelsea, – Simeone told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser – We struggled to press them effectively. We improved when (Antoine) Griezmann went on (Tiemoue) Bakayoko and left David Luiz free. But we were imprecise. The English teams have improved so it’s much more open. There is less margin for error now”.

Atletico Madrid are currently chasing Barcelona and Seville as they earned 15 points from 7 games securing a 4th place, level on points with Valencia. Real Madrid are still behind with 14 points after a disappointing start to the season.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Pablo Simeone has confirmed “Chelsea were better than us”, speaking after the 1-2 defeat suffered by his side against Antonio Conte’s men last night.

About Chelsea, he added: “They were always more comfortable, Chelsea had a good game overall, they were very competitive and strong. They won well and deservedly so”. Simeone pointed out also the way to bounce-back from this disappointing defeat for his players: “We took the defeat as it happened: Saul had a chance to put us 2-0 up, but they were better, tactically and physically with intensity. Chelsea have to be congratulated”. “All we can do is keep growing and improve in every aspect, and surely the win will come. If we’d lost to Roma, it would’ve been the same”.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone dropped a big hint about Diego Costa joining back the Spanish side next January.

The Brazilian born striker was left out of Chelsea squad after falling out with manager Antonio Conte and now he’s looking for a new club.

The Colchoneros cannot sign any player in this transfer window for a market ban, but they can do it in January 2018 and that’s when Costa can return to Atletico, as Simeone almost confirmed in a press conference yesterday:

All the players want to stay, they want to achieve even better goals and get even better,” Simeone speaking ahead of the Audi Cup tournament in Germany.

Diego Costa? If he comes in January… We can’t say anything about that yet.

“I won’t speak about him now. He is a player of Chelsea. We will talk about the boys who are here now, because we have a late start to the season. That is what is important.”

Chelsea star Diego Costa admits he pushed for Atletico Madrid return last summer but he was forced to stay at Stamford Bridge since the Rojiblancos didn’t wait for him.

“Atletico knows I have a special feeling for the team, I lived the best moment of my career there. El Cholo [Diego Simeone] knows it wasn’t impossible for me to come back to Atletico,” Costa told to Spanish media El Larguero.

“The relationship with Conte didn’t start well because when he arrived I told him I wanted to go to Atletico. Chelsea’s fans love me a lot, even more than in Atletico, figure that!

“When Atletico had to wait for me they didn’t, there was still a month to go in the transfer market.

“I’ve done everything to come back to Atletico Madrid but I wouldn’t fight the same to return. When Atletico didn’t wait for me, I had to go to Conte with the tail between my legs.”

Diego Costa was very close to Atletico Madrid return last summer, the Spanish striker himself admitted it in a recent interview when asked about this matter:

“Could I have gone in the summer? Yes, yes. I was about to leave,” the striker said.

“I was about to but, well, I’m happy here as well and that’s that.

“Did I want to go? Yes, yes. I had the possibility to go to Atletico, because of a few things, the family, the life I have there but not because of Chelsea, because, here, there’s a lot of love with the supporters, with the people, so I’m here very happy, I’m very content.”

Now, also Colchoneros manager Diego Simeone reveals the Chelsea striker was close to go back to Vicente Calderón and he has not lost hope about the deal:

“You never know if situations might change.

“It is impossible to think about it, because it did not happen,” he concluded speaking about the failed attempt to bring back Costa to Atletico.
