After Manchester Evening News claimed that Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic agreed personal terms with Manchester United yesterday, today The Telegraph dismissed the news, stating the Red Devils and the Serbian midfielder haven’t reached a deal yet.

United have already signed Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof from Benfica, but they are still keen to revamp their squad: besides a central midfielder like Matic, José Mourinho also wants another full-back – the Red Devils targeted Monaco’s Fabinho– and at least a couple of strikers/wingers.

Some transfer market rumours were linking Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer to Chelsea, but the Turkish club dismissed all the speculations with an official statement on their website.

The statement read:

“A number of recent reports have falsely claimed that Chelsea have made an offer for our Danish player Simon Kjaer.

Fenerbahce have not received any offers whatsoever for Kjaer and any claims suggesting a transfer could take place are wrong.  Kjaer is a happy and successful member of our team.

We would like to ask our fans to disregard such lies and manipulative reports that aim to disrupt our team.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte spoke to the media before the Premier League leaders clash against Stoke City today.

The Italian manager dismissed speculations about Thibaut Courtois moving to Real Madrid, that have been keen on the Belgian keeper for months:

“Thibaut for me is one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the world,” the Blues manager said.

“He is working very well and is a fantastic goalkeeper and he stays with us, this is the most important thing and the other situations are only speculation.”

Always speaking about transfer market, Conte talked about Oscar’s possible replacement:

“In January it is always very difficult to buy because every team thinks to keep their best players, not to sell but with the club we are thinking about the best way to face the rest of the season. For sure we are thinking about our situation and our squad.”

Conte also spoke about Oscar’s super deal:

“When you have a good group, a new player can arrive into the group in a simple way, and for sure we have sold Oscar and we have money to spend, but it is important to spend money in the right way. I prefer to buy players adapted to our system that can come into our team and pass, but I repeat, it is not easy in January to find these type of players but with the club, we are working on this aspect.”

The Italian coach also spoke about Chelsea youngsters, that are ready to perform in the first team in case of need:

“We have a lot of young players and I trust in them. Ola Aina, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah, and also we have Zouma returned.”

Conte spoke also about two youngster who came back from their loan experience, and he explained why:

Kenedy and Charly Musonda came back from their loans at Watford and Real Betis because they didn’t play a lot and for this reason it is important for them to stay with us these weeks to evaluate the best situation for them and the team.

“It is important also to work with these type of young players to try find the right solutions at home, and if this is not possible, it is important to look around to find the solution.”

Simone Zaza‘s agent, Christian Maifredi, dismissed rumours of his player moving to Chelsea:

“I learned about Simone’s links to Chelsea through the Press,” he told TuttoJuve.com

I don’t have anything to declare on an official level, it’s just information that I’ve read online.

“It’s nice, of course, to be linked to such a great club but there are still a dozen games to be played in the Bianconeri shirt, one Simone is very attached to.

“There’s the end of the season to go, and the European Championships still to be played.

“If we have to talk about the transfer market, it’ll only be after that.”

Maifredi was then asked to asses his client’s impact in Turin so far.

“It’s been a totally new period for Simone, these eight months he’s been playing in the Juventus shirt.

“As his agent I’ve observed his growth compared to when he wore the Sassuolo shirt, and because of his new surroundings and new targets we’re very satisfied with his performance.

“When he’s been called upon he’s done well, as shown by his seven goals in 750 minutes which really is an excellent average.

“I hope he can get more minutes before the end of the season.”

Cesc Fabregas was forced again to dismiss rumours of a fall-out with former Chelsea manager José Mourinho.

Speculations around some media and among the fans were claiming that the Spaniard was one of the “rats” that let Mourinho down, he was also strongly booed last Saturday during Sunderland’s clash for this.

Radio BBC 5 and Chelsea legend Pat Nevin also hinted at him as one of the players that were causing troubles to the Portuguese manager, stating he was the player that said: “I would rather lose than win for Mourinho”.

After threatening to sue them, they both apologised to him and so Cesc took again the social networks to make, once more, the situation clear and dismiss the rumours again:

“I’m pleased that Pat Nevin and the BBC apologised and corrected their comments.

I can reiterate that I had an exceptionally good relationship with Jose Mourinho as I will aim to have with any coach that I play for.

The football club is more important than any one player. We have all let the manager and club down this year as a collective unit. We will get this right of that I am sure.

With all your help we can put this period behind us and make Chelsea great again.”

Chelsea summer signing Pedro struggled, like all of his team-mates, in his first months at Stamford Bridge.

He was also stopped for almost a couple of months by an injury but now, with the confidence boosting after the last game where he also scored the 2-0 goal, he hopes that the situation will improve both for the team and him.

There were rumours of a Chelsea exit in January, but he dismissed them:

I’m happy here. This information that I’m not is false. I am very satisfied to be here in this club,” Pedro revealed.

“I am happy with the supporters and this team. Obviously the situation is not good but together it is possible for us to climb the table.”

He also spoke about new Chelsea interim manager:

“Guus Hiddink is a very good coach and I am sure the club are confident about him.

“He spoke with me after the Sunderland game for a minute in Spanish and I had a good feeling. For me it was perfect. He was telling me is happy here and with the team.”

José Mourinho’s agent’s Jorge Mendes dismissed rumours of a done deal between the ex Chelsea boss and Manchester United.

Many reports suggested that the Special One already had an agreement with the Red Devils to replace his friend Louis Van Gaal soon, since the Dutch manager is on the brink at Old Trafford.

But, speaking to Globo Esporte, Mendes dismissed all this:

There is nothing to those rumours,” the agent said.

“We do not know what will happen in the future, but there is no agreement for now, nor is there an official proposal.

“Those rumours are simply not true.”
