Chelsea midfielder Oscar will miss next Copa America, that will be played in June in Chile.

The Brazilian midfielder was expected to be included Dunga’s 23-man-squad but following discussions with Chelsea staff, he was omitted, supposedly due to an injury suffered during club training.

His Brazilian fellow-mate Marcelo admitted it will be an important absence:

Oscar was being called up. I don’t know what happened, I didn’t get to talk to him, but he’s a great player” commented the Real Madrid defender.

Oscar will be greatly missed, but Dunga is the boss and he knows what is best for the Seleçâo“.

Chelsea keen on Pedro, Antoine Griezmann, Raphael Varane and Fabio Coentrao

Chelsea showed interest in Barcelona’s player Pedro since he has been available earlier this year.

Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann is still one Blues targets as well.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho took interest in Vicente Guaita, Getafe’s 28-year-old goalkeeper, as back-up to Thibaut Courtois.
However, an English goalkeeper would be more helpful according to the quota regulations.

Concerning defensive targets, Raphael Varane is still the top one, if he can be prised out of Real Madrid.
But The Special One may opt for another full back, since he knows that Branislav Ivanovic can operate in central defence.

Filipe Luis is set to leave Blues club and he’s likely to make his return to Atletico. Consequently, Real left back Fabio Coentrao is back on the radar.

Chelsea’s players will start preparations for their next home-game against Liverpool on Sunday.
Chelsea Boss Mourinho is giving them another four days off next week before they play at West Bromwich on Monday week.

The Brazilian midfielder Oscar will not play any part in the final three games because of a thigh muscle injury and will not take part in the Copa America in June.

Ramires is suffering from a kidney problem and he has not been selected by Brazil boss Dunga, while Luis and Willian are going to play in their national team.

Brazil Head Coach Dunga has praised the attacking contribution of Chelsea man Willian.

Willian has been a constant in Mourinho’s sides this season, as well as playing all seven Brazil games Dunga has been in charge for.

The Brazil boss sees Willian as crucial to the way he wants to see his side play as he hopes to utilise the plays fluidity.

Dunga cited the Chelsea man and Barcelona’s Neymar as vital to the international side.

Dunga has been quoted as saying: “The movement and mobility of our players is key.

“The more they play together the more things become automatic. Willian is skilled.

“He has a lot of pace, a speed in his reasoning and he can make the difference in many games.”
